About

You understand more than you can say. Learn Persian (Farsi) as Iranians actually speak it, not the way textbooks write it. Farsi-jān is built for heritage speakers: people who grew up in Iranian families hearing Persian at home, understand most of it, and freeze when it is their turn to answer. It starts from what you already understand and drills the part that is missing: saying it back. New to Persian? It works from zero too. WHAT A LESSON IS See the line, hear it, choose the natural reply, and learn why it works. Real Replies puts you in the moments that matter: your mom noticing you look tired, someone teasing your accent, a grandparent who expects the respectful form. Every reply is tagged for tone, so you learn what sounds natural, not just what is grammatical. Press and hold a Persian word to see what it means. SAY IT OUT LOUD In the pronunciation lessons, say a word and see how each sound came out (kh, gh and the tapped r), with a tip for the one to work on. In the guided conversations, from ordering koobide at a kabābi to buying a SIM card in Tehran, type your reply or say it, and find out whether it sounds natural, works or misses, and why. Speaking needs a free account and your OK first, and is for ages 13 and up. Recordings are scored and then deleted within seconds. 27 VOICED CONVERSATIONS Calling your khāle, tea at a café, meeting a friend's parents, a taxi in Tehran, Yalda night, a wedding and more: short scenes in everyday spoken Persian where taarof has rounds. A VOICE ON NEARLY EVERY CARD The voices are neural (synthesised). The course voice, Roya, has a Tehran accent. You can also pick one of five male voices. Hold the speaker for a slower take, hear a card before its answer shows, or play a module as a listening deck. Record yourself and hear your take next to the clip: that recording stays on your phone. START IN THE RIGHT PLACE A short check finds your starting point: listen or read and pick the meaning, with "I don't know yet" on every question. Signed in, you can add an optional speaking check. PRACTICE THAT COMES BACK Anything you miss comes back a day later, then three days later, then a week later, and further out as it sticks. Review brings back what you got wrong, daily practice draws on your weak spots and saved phrases, and a reminder can tell you when review is ready. CALM, OR PLAY Keep a calm home, or turn on game mode and Practice becomes Play: a daily round of up to ten cards from what you need, medals, bundles you earn (never sold), an album of cards to collect, ranks and speed rounds, with days practised in place of a streak. Finish a phase or a week and share a card of it. THE WHOLE COURSE Twelve phases and two paths: 135 modules and 519 lessons, plus optional extra practice, across eighteen kinds of lesson, from flashcards and matching to dictation and building sentences. It runs from the Pronunciation Reset (kh, gh, the tapped r, the ayn, long ā) through everyday spoken Persian, taarof and idioms, to formal and news Farsi and living in Tehran. READING IS OPTIONAL Learn to speak with finglish (Persian in English letters) and pick up the Persian alphabet whenever you like, or never. The reading path sits beside the course: read the Farsi you already understand. FREE, WITH NO ADS Everything in this app is free, with no ads and nothing to buy. The first two phases work without an account, and your progress stays on your phone. A free account, made with your email or with Sign in with Apple, opens the rest of the course and keeps your progress in step across your devices. Your data is never sold. WHY IT EXISTS "I grew up understanding every word my family said and answering in English. Every course I found started at salām, as if I had never heard the word." Amir, who built it.
