Farstep: Focus, Block, Explore

Get back to your hobbies. Farstep is a focus timer and app blocker that turns the time you spend away from your phone into a fantasy world to explore. Pick a Pomodoro-style timer (25 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours), choose the apps that pull at you, and set out. Until the timer ends, those apps stay blocked, and the hours go to what you love: a book, a sketchbook, a guitar, a run. While you are away, the journey goes on: a calm first-person walk through the land you chose, set to an original soundtrack of epic fantasy music, with footsteps, wind and birdsong around you. Follow along if you like, or let it play and forget it. When the quest is done, the map opens a little bit more. WHY FARSTEP Most blockers only take something away. Farstep gives the time back a direction: your hobbies in the real world, and a world that keeps growing in return. The more quests you complete, the more of the map there is to explore. HOW IT WORKS - Tap the map to choose a direction, then pick how long you will be away. The length sets how far the quest reaches. - Block the apps that distract you. During the quest, opening one of them shows a block screen instead: "The quest is not yet over." - Your quest waits on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island as a Live Activity, with the time remaining. - Need to stop? Turn back at any time and the block lifts at once. Only completed quests are drawn on the map. WHAT YOU KEEP - A map that expands with every completed quest. Twelve lands, from snowfields to far deserts, with towers, mills, wrecks and standing stones to find. - A plain record over the map: quests completed, hours charted, places found. - The Flame: a streak of days with a completed quest. Miss a day and it falls to embers; complete a quest the next day and it burns on. - An optional morning reminder when the day's quest is still ahead of you. MADE NOT TO HOLD YOUR ATTENTION No feed, no ads, no score to chase. Farstep is a quiet place to leave running while you live your day. PRIVATE BY DESIGN - No account and no sign-in. - The apps you choose to block are handled by Apple's Screen Time and never leave your device. Farstep only knows how many you picked. - Anonymous usage analytics only. No tracking. FREE, AND THE HERO'S OATH Free: one quest a day, up to one hour, blocking up to three apps. The map, the discoveries, the soundtrack and the Flame are all included. The Hero's Oath (subscription): as many quests a day as you like, the 2-hour quest, more than three apps, plus websites and whole app categories. Progress is never for sale. Places, quests and the Flame come only from time spent away.
