About

FerryDrop is the iPhone app for Ferry, a self-hosted clipboard and file ferry. You run the Ferry Server with Docker on a computer on your own private network. Text, links, photos and files sent from your iPhone, your other phones and tablets, or any browser all land in one shared timeline. • One shared timeline. Everything any joined device sends appears in one timeline, labelled with the device that sent it, and the history stays. • Copy in one tap. Tap Copy on a text message to put it on this iPhone's clipboard. • Files as they were sent. Images preview inline and open full screen; files up to 64 MB are stored without re-encoding, so what you save is exactly what was sent. • Your data stays with you. No account and no cloud: messages and files live only on the Ferry Server you run, and the app connects only to the address you enter. • The clipboard is touched only when you tap. The app never reads your clipboard in the background and writes to it only when you tap Copy. • Revocable access. Each device gets its own token, kept in the iOS Keychain. Add an optional shared password for new devices, and revoke any device from the Web app. FerryDrop requires a Ferry Server that you run yourself: an always-on 64-bit computer with Docker and Docker Compose v2, on the same trusted private network as your iPhone. Setup instructions and the source code (MIT license) are at https://github.com/max1874/ferry. Any browser can also use Ferry directly. There are no analytics, ads or crash-reporting SDKs.
