Privacy invasive location tracking
UPDATE:
Developer responded below. Their privacy policy says the app works without location services enabled. This is not true. You cannot check out a child unless you enable location tracking. This is 100% unnecessary.
To address the developer response, there is no way to notify staff of my arrival WITHOUT tracking my location.
I will not use this app. I have been vocal with other parents to not use it either as well as pushing to have it replaced with another service.
I recommend talking to your schools, daycares, or other child care services and choose another product. 0/5
Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concern about privacy. FetchKids uses your device's location only to calculate your estimated arrival time and distance from the school so staff can prepare your child before you arrive, helping make pickup faster and more efficient. Your actual location is never displayed to school staff, is never accessible to them, and is not used to track your movements. The app simply transmits your estimated arrival information—not where you are. We take parent privacy very seriously and designed this feature to provide the benefits of advance arrival notifications without revealing your location.

Response from developer
We take reliability and school partnerships very seriously. We are not aware of any incident matching the claims described in this review, and the statements made here do not reflect our product, onboarding process, or how schools evaluate and use our service. We work directly with school administrators through extended trial periods and guided launches to ensure successful dismissals and ongoing support. If a school ever experiences an issue, our team works closely with them to resolve it promptly. We encourage schools with questions to contact us directly so we can provide accurate information and support.
