Thanks for choosing the Fiber Optic Color Code app! This update includes a couple of user requests to the straight fiber sheath count search screen. First is X=Y: The x=y update allows a user to set a custom straight sheath count if they might only know only one of the fibers identity. So say you know fiber 36 is identified as 55. Above the Custom Start Fiber is a X=Y option. Clicking the option will open up 2 inputs. The first input is the X input where you enter the physical Fiber #. In the above scenario you enter the 35. The second input is the Y input. Here you'll enter the ID of 55. Doing the above enters a starting fiber of 20 into the app. 2nd part update "Update Ranges (##-##)": When entering a custom start fiber this option updates the the numbers inside the parentheses ( ) to reflect the custom fibers id'd within for quick glancing. You the user will need to enable the "Update Ranges (##-##)" option from within the app settings located in the More tab on the bottom navigation bar 3rd part of update "Reverse" lookup: When a custom start fiber is entered there is now a option to search by physical sheath count. So entering a custom start fiber of 20 and reverse searching for physical sheath fiber of 2 results in displaying the second fiber in the sheath id'd as 21. Thanks again! GT

Android version is gone

As of 9/10/2025, the android app is gone and had to restore to getting a iPhone to regain access to this app.

Hi BPF. Are you working with loose tube cables that have more than 72 tubes? For instance a 144th tube would theoretically be aqua in color with 11 tracer rings. Or is there a cable configuration you're trying to make work? I'll need some information to help guide you or for me to come up with an update. I may even be able to help with a work around if we can't get it to do exactly what you need at the moment. Thanks! GT edit: Here's a little something I'd experimented with. click round cable type button and select "☆12" as cable type. select the "more" tab at the bottom. select "set color code" select "tia:eia black tracer" go back to more menu select "app settings" enable "pin color code to cable" and enable "Allow 12ct Series & Block" close app settings. from more menu enable "12ct Series & Block" select the "FOCC" navigation button at the bottom to get back to the color code. you'll now have a series and index show overlaying the buffer colors from 1:1 through 12:12. This would be my most generic work around. Let me know either way if this helps. GT

Good app however am I missing something?

Great app, this is perfect. However, with the 1728 cables I’m using and sure a lot of us are, they are in buffers. 288 in each buffer, Blue-White, ribiijs are labeled 1-24. This app would be so much better if it would tell you what color buffer and what ribbon to break. Is this already in the app? If not, it would be a great addition. Thanks

Yes sir, the app does that. Steps: 1) From the main color code screen click the round circle button at the bottom right of the screen just above the navigation tab bar. On initial app download the button will have a star inside it. 2) Scroll to the very bottom of the list that pops up and there you'll find selections labeled #1-#5. Select any one of these 5 positions. 3) Now the app will be in RILT (Ribbon in loose tube) mode. 4) Select the "More" tab on the left side of the lower navigation bar. 5) Select "Set RILT" from inside the More menu list. 6) A "RILT Cable Builder" box will open. Enter "6" into the Super input, "24" into the Ribbon input and "12" into the Fiber input. 7) Verify the cable builder box shows 1728F and click the green ok button. Now the position you selected in step #2 above will be set as S=6 R=24 F=12 for future use. Any of those lower 5 positions are user settable following the steps above.
