If another app takes it mid-recording, Fictate™ buzzes and tells you plainly, then reclaims the microphone and continues the same recording the moment it can — even from the lock screen. Every recording now shows a live card on your lock screen, so you can always see Fictate™ is capturing, no matter what else your phone is doing. New in Account & Settings: keep your screen awake while recording, and a 25-minute session timer for Pomodoro writers. Spoken punctuation fixes: "comma, end quote" always lands correctly, including before flipped speech tags like "said Connor."

Fantastic for Writing Productivity

I am brand new to using dictation, and right now it’s not my primary means of getting words on the page, but this app makes speaking the story into text seamless and accurate. Lots of helpful features and training. I would highly recommend it to authors interested in giving dictation a try.

I’ve tried tons of different dictation apps over the years. This is app is a complete game-changer for novelists. This app can only make your speed and overall workflow more efficient.

Superb

Fictate is amazing. I’m newer at dictating and have tried a few other applications. Nothing compares to Fictate. Sarah did a wonderful job at creating this tool. I’ve been so that I just switched to the annual plan. I cannot recommend this enough.

Great for fiction writers

I’m a fiction writer and y his app is fantastic! I am able to upload the beats for the next chapter into the app and go for a walk while dictating. Then the app will transcribe and clean up the chapter so I can download into Scrivener. I’m very excited at how this is freeing up my writing. I can narrate 2000 words in around 30 minutes. Thanks, for designing an app aimed at fiction writers!
