What's New in Filament
2.0.0
September 14, 2026
Filament Tracker 2.0 is here, with a smarter search bar and a new way to weigh your spools. ASK YOUR INVENTORY ANYTHING • The search bar now understands full questions, like "how many grams of red PLA do I have?" • Get instant totals and counts back instead of scrolling and adding up spools yourself • Powered by on-device Apple Intelligence — nothing leaves your device, no internet required • No Apple Intelligence on your device? Search still works exactly as before WEIGH SPOOLS WITH A BLUETOOTH SCALE • Connect a Bluetooth scale to weigh a spool and get its remaining filament instantly • Set your spool's empty weight once — every future weigh-in subtracts it automatically • No scale? Nothing changes — you can still type weights in by hand • Manage your scale from Settings → Hardware LIGHT MODE • The whole app now follows your device's Light or Dark Mode setting automatically SMARTER FILTERING • Filter picker rows for Brand, Type, Color Family, and more now show how many spools match each one TRUE FILAMENT COLORS • Pick or type the exact color of a spool instead of settling for a generic swatch • The color hex is always shown in Spool Detail whenever one is recorded BUILT FOR EVERYONE • Full VoiceOver support and Dynamic Type throughout the app SUPPORT THE APP • Leave a tip from Settings to support ongoing development — tippers get a Supporter badge and a fun thank-you animation POLISH & FIXES • Spool rows in Browse now show a colored stripe for spool state (New, Low, Empty, Retired) at a glance • Location IDs are no longer case-sensitive, so you can't accidentally create two locations that only differ by capitalization • Fixed a few cases where a spool's "New" badge stuck around after you'd already used it • You can now unretire a spool if you marked it retired by mistake • More reliable file exports, plus a genuine Plain JSON backup option for hand-editing • More reliable syncing when you're using the app on several devices at the same time
