Fantastic app

As a photographer I enjoy this app very much, it’s great to have the look and feel of film in a camera app.

Best light meter app for film shooters

It has everything you need and more, I cannot recommend this app enough to anyone who shoots film!

Useful companion for film shooting

I started looking for a basic light meter app, but when I found out what this app could do it quickly made itself indispensable.

I originally had a Rollei 35s with a broken meter, and this app provided two very useful things: 1) proper exposure settings and 2) a rangefinder to help nail focus for wider apertures with a zone focusing camera.

I now use it with a SLR, and the ability to swap lenses is a nice touch.

It helps me track what I shot on film as well, by saving images and being able to go back to them for proper date and geotagging.

The only issues I’ve had so far are: Every once in a while the metering gets stuck and doesn’t update properly. Closing the app and restarting solves that. The other issue is that the camera control changes exposure compensation, and I wish there was a way you could turn that feature off. I’ve had a few shots where I had accidentally changed the exposure without realizing it because the button is very easy to trigger.

In all, it’s a great app, especially once you learn how to use it!

Needs refinement.

The app has many useful features but, after months of use, I haven’t figured out the interface—too many choices, not enough clarity.

Beautiful app

Do you plan to keep up updating the app regularly?

Response from developer

I will continue to update it, but I cannot promise a version at a relatively regular time.

Nice app very helpful

Great app but needs an ability to set custom shutter speed, as you offer pre sets but the camera I have has a max of 1/400 and that is not a current value that can be selected

Also give the ability to add custom filters as I use ND filters and the app only appears to have black and white and color type filters

A Fantastic Application - Infinitely Useful

In a world where everyone is trying to sell you something, it’s refreshing to see others supporting the community with great tools.

The tool can be used as a one tool solution for anything related to film photography.

This is something I’m planning to do myself with my own social media presence, and I embrace the concept.

App is easy to understand and use. Good light meter tools. Makes keeping track of photos on a roll easy.

Great Resource

Very thoughtful development. I can’t think of anything I’d want added. The “Resources” page in Settings is the cherry on top.

Best light meter app

Hands-down, the best free Light Meter app available.

Beautiful app

Love the app aesthetic, can you guys fox the save album option? Mines keep crashing

Love it so far!

This is a really great app, excited to get more time with it under my belt! 3 things I’d like to see, if they already exist then my apologies…
1. Max Shutter Speed for camera in camera settings
2. The ability to under/over expose in metering for ND filter compensation and creative uses
3. Ability to meter and not save the photo associated with the metering

That’s all I can think of at the moment. Keep up the great work!

Response from developer

1. Excellent suggestion, I've added it to the backlog. 2. This is technically difficult. Apple only has one interface to modify the preview effect, which is currently occupied by EV, and the ND range is too large, exceeding the phone's limitations. However, I will try other methods. For example, I've designed a filter system that will be launched in the next few days. The entire filter system is not just data, but a complete preview, including color temperature preview and a black and white filter system. 3. This already exists. There are two ways to do it: 1. Turn off "enable metering recording" in settings. 2. Switch to manual save.

Fun and a Learning Tool

This app allows me to casually learn about the different aspects of photography

Response from developer

That's exactly my plan: to naturally integrate all the film and camera data into the app, making it easy for every beginner to get started.
