SO much crashing
Please fix….
MASSIVE waste of time
First, I spent 15 minutes downloading the 7 GB app then, I had to pay for it which they never Tod me.
Great core experience, but lacking features
FCP’s core editing experience is great, and my favorite of the major video editing suites. The magnetic timeline is a game changer.
The issue is that it lacks some of the features other editors have, such as strong AI audio enhancement, transcript-based editing, and Multicam auto-switch (DaVinci Resolve). Also, and I know this isn’t Apple’s fault, Frame.io integration being missing HURTS.
Finally, FCP has been buggy lately and has crashed on me a decent amount (M1 Max with 32GB RAM, btw). That said, literally every editing suite has been bad about that at some poin in its existence.
Overall, I want to continue to use FCP, and I hope the team at Apple is able to make FCP truly feature-competitive with other editing suites out there today.

FCP is a complete editor. Now has subtitling and masking that are so easy to use

Downloaded it and it shuts down when I try to open it. It’s basically a brick. Awesome app

GREAT FOR CREATORS TO CREATE
From Mobile Editing to Final Cut Pro
I recently switched to Final Cut Pro after doing most of my video editing on my phone, and I’m really impressed so far. There was definitely a learning curve at first, but once I started understanding the magnetic timeline and how everything works, editing became surprisingly fast and intuitive.
I just finished editing my first full 36-minute vlog in Final Cut Pro, working with 4K60 footage from my iPhone and DJI drones, and I already feel like I have much more control over my videos than I did before. Being able to organize everything, adjust color, work with audio, titles, and multiple layers all in one timeline has been a huge upgrade to my workflow.
I’m still learning, but that’s actually one of the things I’m enjoying most. It feels like there’s so much room to grow without the software getting in the way of being creative.
Really excited to see what I can create with it as I get better.

A lot of additions required
Hello, love everything I’m getting out of this app, except a few things. I wish there was a feature to add markers where I wanted to mark to edit. They’re also there is no feature to Mark an In point, and Out point to render only a certain selection of footage. I’ll review with more things that should be done as I find them. Thanks for going to create a great and productive tool for editors.

Just use CapCut
I’m not sure how this app manages to stay relevant when it has less functionality than capcut did in 2020. They need to up their game. To find out there’s barely auto-captions is insane for a professional applications standard in 2026.
Final cut… crash
The latest version on an iPad PRO M5 keeps crashing. Change timeline name, crash, change it back crash, preview a video crash. Multiple timelines are great but after an hour of editing a sequence it constantly crashes, create a new timeline, get another hour, crash.

Very Good but it uses a lot of storage for my device. Just all the media I put in it. :)
LumaFusion is the answer to this buggy restrictive app.
Final Cut Pro on iPad has too many bugs and unnecessary limitations to justify nearly $13 per month. Basic editing tasks are needlessly confusing, and the app has behaved unpredictably enough that I no longer trust it with active projects.
The multi camera set up is unreasonable. On a newly purchased and fully authenticated iPad, I was asked to locate an older device and remember its passcode merely to enable iCloud related functionality.
For professional editing, reliability matters more than branding. LumaFusion is currently the far more practical and dependable iPad, editor for my workflow. I canceled my subscription well before renewal and I am not interested in using it during the free trial.

Version 12.3 - Very Unstable
The version is very unstable. Every time I want to import media crashes. Please fix it.

Freezes a lot while using the playhead on the timeline
Keeps crashing when importing Photos video
It keeps crashing when importing Photos videos. I tried to export from Photos to disk then import into Final Cut Pro, still crashed; even though it’s just a short video with a few seconds. Totally unusable. I would expect it to be a smooth experience to use videos shot on iPhone, but it turns out to be a headache.

Not production ready
Having to pay $13 a month to access this app feels like a complete scam and I’ll definitely have to find something else. TikTok’s editor is more advanced than this paid app that Apple developed? It’s not really intuitive for doing real editing and I couldn’t find basic features like fading out audio and splitting clips. In general, this app is just so bare-bones and doesn’t have the kind of features that you’d be accustomed to, even just from TikTok’s in app edit editor.

My First Video Editor!
Took me several days, using Final Cut Pro, to begin to understand the basics and create my first YouTube video, but it’s been worth it. I’m on video number 5 now and still learning, adding more and more to my little note book! Get yourself a Note Book … keep notes! Also, ChatGPT and info from other YouTube videos has helped enormously.
