Good game but you need to change a few things
There is way too many battles I get one about every 15 seconds it is super annoying! Please fix I just want to enjoy the game but I can not when I have to fight a monster every 5 seconds

Good Remake, but Hampered by Lack of Controller Support
Games should have controller support in 2025. It’s holding back an otherwise good port of a classic game that is among the best in the series.
It used to be a great game
It could be a great game for iPhone, but this is just a lazy port that doesn’t try to improve the game for the modern standards. If you used to play the original FF IV, the nostalgic feeling about it would push you through this, otherwise no need to touch it. The fight system is too outdated: auto fight is too dumb and doesn’t do anything except simple attack. Without with fight you will have to crank the speed to the lowest, but fights would take too long. Very lazy port, don’t waste your time or money on it.

Great graphics but it is bugged
Came to the tower and had the rabbit character that says you can chafe your name. When I put in a name it will not let me go any further and stays on the name screen. It will not go any further. When I restarted and tried to just walk past him it immediately goes into dialogue and back to the name change screen but will not accept anything I put in. Love the FF franchise but a little put off about this part of the game.

Huge FPS issues in combat
This could be great, but I’m experiencing huge FPS drops in combat. I think you patched it on PC. Hopefully it gets patched here too.
Fantastic game, strange quirk.
So, this is like, a fantastic final fantasy. The remake job here is super faithful while giving it a sort of n64 era charm that is super convincing to something I would have seen on that system. Character animation is great and the voice acting is superb. Overall love the vibe. What I don’t love so much is the strange quirk of the battle system. It plays great gameplay wise, but the battles quite literally run at 15 fps. It totally throws off the gameplay!!! Everything else runs at a silky smooth 60 FPS, so i honestly don’t understand it.

Great RPG Experience
Not sure what the fps or save complaints are about. Quick saving is easy, game runs great on my iPhone 16 PM. It’s an old game so if it wasn’t low fps I’d be disappointed. It also uses almost no battery to play

Amazing. Hard enough to keep me interested and a LONG story, I am sure I’m nearing the end and it’s been fantastic.
I normally skip storylines in games but this one has me captivated! 12/10

Great game, subpar port
I personally think the 3D version of FF4 is the best version. This port, however, appears to not be optimized for retina displays. It runs at a low resolution and has a lot of aliasing/shimmering. It is for that reason I’ve chosen to start a play through on PC via Steam instead. The font rendering is also kind of bad.

Good game
I payed this as FFII on SNES and FFIV on GBA. Didn’t know there was a DS version, but I according to the other reviews, this was it. My least favorite part of turn based RPGs has always been the repetitiveness of the battles. The auto fight makes this a lot more bearable. Game play is pretty intuitive. Would be nice to have a little bit better direction sometimes, but older games don’t lead you around like newer games. I did like the rewards for map completion, although there was one that I couldn’t seem to get no matter how much I tried. Don’t remember which area. I think it was maybe floor 4 of the final dungeon? Anyway, good game. Glad to have a chance to play it again.

Interesting Story
It’s a little brutal early on, but the plot is excellent with plenty of twists that took me genuinely by surprise. It’s got some good voice actors (appreciated Sam Riegal playing another bard!) and the combat is easy enough once you get the hang of it. It doesn’t hold your hand through everything like modern games do, which forces you to ask around and interact with the game.
Main complaint is that the controls are a little clunky if you’ve got fat fingers like myself and the combat is a little slow.
Aside from that, a fun game with a good plot, and it’s fun to play the final fantasy that kickstarted a lot of the modern games main features like the ATB.
Also, Kain is excellent

Fantastic
Brilliant game and even better that it’s on the iPhone. People who are giving it low ratings isn’t due to performance of the game or visuals, it’s simply that they’re just plain whack and give up easily. This game is hours of fun AND they even have the sequel available on Apple Arcade! Awesome! 😆
