Finally, the Remake I Wanted
After playing other remakes, I was very reluctant to buy this one. All I wanted was the old, original Final Fantasy.
This isn't quote the original, but it's as close as you could ask for. It is still easier- probably because the things that made the original so difficult were bugs... And because of that I can also understand why they wouldn't/couldn't make a pixel remaster duplicate. They can't advertise: "Including ALL the old bugs!"
So... you can make it a little harder. Or a little easier and faster, since all of us who play this are adults who can't spend all afternoon grinding wolves in Elfland for just enough money to pay for a couple PUREs after a bad run in with an Asp, but I digress.
It is acceptable. The others were not Final Fantasy 1, but this is acceptable.
My favorite part: Original Music option!
My one request for an update: Original Language and Dialogue option!!!

自動的に解除される最後の実績が取れません
「隠された遊び」取得後、自動的に解除されるハズの最後の実績「FF1マスター！」が何故か解除されず。不具合ですかね？リメイクの完成度は高く、実績のコンプリートを頑張っていたので少しゲンナリしました。修正されたら星５つにする予定。
追記 2026/1/26追記
まだ上記不具合なおっていません。数年前の当時サポートに連絡したのでバグなことはわかっているハズです。スクエニのものづくりに対するスタンスがよく分かりました。無視すれば忘れてくれると思ったんでしょうか？星1に変更です。

Choppy scrolling
An issue across all of these remasters. The choppy scrolling hurts my eyes and renders these version unplayable for me. It’s unfortunate, as these have the potential to be the best versions of these games

Little hard to figure out how the game works, but fun.

I have purchased several Square Enix titles on iOS. Now a number of them have been placed behind an Apple Arcade paywall, and I have not been reimbursed for them.

Pixelated Nostalgia
So that you may know. I am a child of the Nintendo Generation (born 1986 a month or two after the Challenger blew up). I have played so May 8 bit and 16 bit adventures but we always were Zelda fans (Miyamoto be praised) and so I missed the final fantasies. I look forward to enjoying 1-6 (the pure Nintendo products). It feels so much like the real thing but I have the advantage of enjoying it as an adult. It is so much fun it’s like I am again. Thank you

BOOST IS OP YESYESYESYESYESYES
Ok so when I bought this game I saw a boost screen and gained level 40 around Astos. I thought, “This is OP” Now I have completed the bestiary and have 21 out of the 24 achievements. Absolutely amazing game! Ps. I play the classics

Das Spiel kann nicht beendet werden. Es fehlt ein ganzer dungeon. Der Tempel der Erde (oder so) ist normalerweise bereits von Spielbeginn an zu betreten und befindet sich zwischen der ersten Stadt und dem ersten dungeon (Chaostempel oder so). Ist hier einfach nicht vorhanden. Super Strange. Führt dazu, dass das Spiel nicht abgeschlossen werden kann. Also: spart euch das Geld!!!

ゲームパッド対応のアプデが来ていたので購入したが…
なぜかメニューの並びが装備→アイテム→魔法となっている。確認したところPCやCSではいつもの並びな模様。やっていれば慣れるかと思ったが無理そうなので返金申請中。そのうち他ハードで買い直そうと思います
Not how to do a remake
This is my third time attempting to do a review for this game going into details about what’s wrong with it. And it keeps ending before I can finish. So I’m gonna enter it little bits at a time and hopefully I’ll get it all in. This proves to me the developers know they made a lazy job with this. So if it doesn’t feel complete check back later. I’ll be sure to explain the problems clearly and easily.
Break down: I played the original game so I know it was meant to be VERY hard. The game did not hold your hand in anyway. You did not know which class could use which weapons or armor. Spells had status effects you had to pay attention to. Monsters also may have had status effects or symbols you had to learn. The best was the Black Belt. We’re a player would notice that he would never hit hard however he would hit a lot of times. Figuring out how to get the most punches out of him while also making them the most was part of the fun of this game.

Took way too long for this but I guess they finally decided to add classic font. Thanks Square, next time just have it there in the first place.
ゲームモードにならなくなった
ios18のiPhoneでプレイしているが、今まではアプリを起動するとゲームモードになってたのに、ver1.2.1にアップデートして以降ゲームモードにならなくなった。
そのためか、明らかに要所要所でカクつくようになった。
ピクリマ全シリーズで同様の事象が起きたため直してほしい。

実際に遊んでみて感じた不満
レベルアップ時のステータス厳選がとてつもなく厳し過ぎて途方に暮れました。
IIのブーストモードにあった能力値上昇4倍モードか、レベルアップ時全ステータス上昇機能をブーストモードに追加して欲しいです。
装備制限解除モードや、獲得アイテムとステータスを引き継いで遊べる強くてニューゲーム的なモードも欲しいです。
あと戦士とシーフがクラスチェンジ後にMPの最大値が 0なのも不満です。
キャラクターレベルに応じて最大MPが付与される様に改善して欲しいです。
不満点さえ無ければ懐かしさも相まって星5を付けられる良いゲームだと思います。

Where is the bestiary?
Every online website says the bestiary is in the “extras” menu. There is no extras menu. Then you can find specific comments to the iOS version that it’s in the “configuration” menu - but it’s not in the configuration menu.
Lastly, you can dig up comments that some versions don’t show it, and you need up update - but It’s already up to date.
Can anyone see a bestiary? Was it removed in a recent update?
