AI Madness, a new mode outside the fortress. Boards up to 10 by 13, sometimes only three kinds of tile, cascades that barely stop, tasks that may be impossible. Nothing is banked. Every shift has a code: send it to a friend and they get the same board. On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model (Foundation Models) picks the shift's character and writes its line in the log. The Signals Annex: three new stations that use the phone's instruments. A weather post reads the barometer, and a pressure front opens salvage digs for two hours. An acoustic modem sends a callsign as sound. A direction finder for nearby stations. Every sensor stays off until you switch it on, with a master cutoff in Settings. New on the board: convoy crates, sealed containers, interference, burned sectors, salvage ground. Two new kinds of task: decode a sequence in order, fill a gauge in every column. Two charged tiles swapped together fire one combined shape, up to the whole board. Cascades come from tiles already on the board, not from the refill. Balance: tasks ask for less, and every other run deals a plain board. Repairs: each system is repaired once, the tiers are gone. The Systems screen shows every bill against your shelves, and pressing a bill marks the mission that pays it. The Operating Manual, inside the game: every rule the engine keeps, on its own pages. On the board: a task can be abandoned at any time. A reshuffle is announced instead of happening silently. A DIAG key counts the legal moves on demand. The debrief prints the shift's telemetry. Sound, rebuilt: the room is synthesized live and seeded from your fortress. It changes with what is running, with the hour of the night and with the weather. Each kind of tile has its own note, and a cascade climbs the scale. The Long Dark rings on bells now. Headphones recommended. Widget: the medium size shows the seven stores and the archive count. StandBy is supported. Lock screen: an open pressure front shows as a Live Activity for the two hours it lasts. Off by default, in Settings.
