Review

Hello is there anyway to add swipe typing to this keyboard If that was added this keyboard would be a must have!

Had to put my fleksy to rest. Thanks Finale.

The developer is doing god's work.

Much needed alternative to fleksy, and safe refuge for all people who never found a replacement for the OG.

Perfect swipe features and uniquely long press shortcuts, And some fresh take on different other gestures.

Now he hates the space bar. We all know it. I'm sure some of you didn't use it after downloading just because of that.

As much as he hates the spacebar, he's a pookie to let you have it, if you're willing to try. It's a damn freaking Easter egg. Alas our dev loves the space bar after all.

Anyway, the app actively in development, new features every few weeks or months. A small fun subreddit for dev's announcements and your feature requests which the dev will either graciously grant or convince you as to why you're shouldn't be asking for it. 😂

I seriously think our dev is a cat. 😼

Fleksy Users: Welcome Back!

As a long time user of Fleksy, I was gutted to see it removed from the app store. Finale brought that same experience back, and improved on it in a modern, yet thoughtful manner. You won't miss the space bar as bad as you might think.

The keyboard I've been searching for!

I’ve been hunting for a replacement for the stock iPhone keyboard for a long time. Finale is the first one that actually stuck.
It takes up less screen than any other keyboard I’ve tried. You type letters normally; almost everything else is a swipe: right to accept a word and add a space, right again for punctuation, left to delete a whole word, up/down to cycle suggestions. Emojis and symbols are swipes too. The first day feels weird. By day three it feels faster than tapping a space bar.
It learns slang and names quickly, favorite emojis stay where you put them. If you used Fleksy and missed it, this is that idea done right—minimal, gesture-first, no bloat.
Give the gestures a week. After that you won’t want to go back.
Only thing missing for me is predictive text to guess next word instead of correcting a whole word afterwards.

Response from developer

Yes! Yes yes, that's the spirit! I'm glad that you stuck through the first few days of getting used to the keyboard - it really opens up once you get used to all gestures. Thank you!

Great keyboard

Works well! Autocorrect is very accurate, and dynamic touch zones seem to make a clear difference. Gestures are fast and easy once learned.

Response from developer

Yay, thank you!

Cool idea but...

This app is a cool idea, especially for those of us that struggle with typing. I'm blind, and so that's why I got this app.But honestly, I had to turn voiceover off and the typing itself is horribly inaccurate and I couldn't correct it.And I couldn't enable direct touch, which would let me use the keyboard with voiceover.

Response from developer

This keyboard was never optimized for blind people. So, frankly, it’s hard for me to understand your feedback. I don't know what "voiceover" or "direct touch" in your context means. If you are down to investigate together, feel free to contact me at grant@finaletodo.com and I'll see what I can do :)

Fleksy refugees rejoice

I hung on to Fleksy for years after it was dead because all my muscle memory was trained for it's gestures and features. Finally a modern keyboard fills that niche. Absolutely perfect keyboard.

Response from developer

Thank you, enjoy!

Awwww, someone reinvented Fleksy?

Awwww, how cute..! You want £99.99? For a spacebar? For a button that has been standard on every keyboard since the 1870s?

Everyone, look! This little tiny indie dev can't monetise a to-do app without holding basic text input hostage. Isn't that adorable?

You couldn't learn basic paywall design? Shipping something people would actually pay for was too hard? Aw, of course — I should've known. You can't even be bothered to spell "debt", "toddler" or "button" correctly in your own 400-word essay about how stupid I am. Three typos in a screen whose entire premise is my incompetence.

And that gesture you're so smug about? Swipe-right-for-space was Fleksy, December 2012. Built for blind and partially sighted users. So you took a thirteen-year-old accessibility feature, implemented it worse, and now mock people for not having "the hand-eye coordination" to use it. Read that back to yourself slowly.

Then there's the £0.99 loot box for a spacebar, and the part where you ask users to email you an insult about themselves. Genuinely charming stuff.

One star. Ship a keyboard as good as the one you copied, then get cocky.

AHAHAHAHAHAA 1/5 for using ChatGPT, but 5/5 for the concept

Fleksy is back!

This is just great in all ways. Please add some nice color choices like fleksy had? But hell yeah, all amazing. So much better than t9 and ready for 2026.

Okay I just learned the gesture for return!

Keep going thanks again

Response from developer

Yay, glad to hear it! Explore the Gestures Guide inside the app to learn all available gestures!

Response from developer

Danke, ich freue mich sehr über deine lieben Worte aus Deutschland!

Like Fleksy La Croix

I sure wish I could do things like type "Well,” but it auto-corrects it to “We’ll,” and no amount of swiping fixes it. Heaven forbid there are two punctuation marks next to each other. 3? Forget about it. Only one punctuation mark allowed at a time. And do you wAnT to TyPe CrAZy sometimes? Too bad. Correct capitalization only.

In its current state, definitely don’t pay money for this, but it has potential if the developer could let us type as funny as he thinks he is.

Best keyboard

So happy to have found this.. It's the best one I've used.. And the developer is great, very helpful. Highly recommend.

So happy to have read this.. It's the best one I've seen today.. And the reviewer is great, very kind. Highly recommend.

Best keyboard!

Better alternative to native iOS keyboard and improvement over the depreciated Fleksy app. Having to pay for a keyboard and not knowing what you'll get for it is risky but Finale is worth it.

The gestures are well thought through, practical, and intuitive.

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the risk ✊

Wonderful keyboard

Tried in Portuguese and Spanish, and is even better than fleksy!

Response from developer

Yay, how lovely :)

The keyboard I have been looking for

This keyboard is really great, the best part of it is its gestures and shortcuts. Only issue people will have is to get used to gestures and type without the spacebar.

Response from developer

You say issue - I say feature! Screw the space bar movement ✊🏿

Great app to use

Alternative to fleksy

Response from developer

May I say BETTER than Fleksy?

Still a good keyboard

Update on my past review.

Still a good keyboard, could use one improvement imo.
If you swipe to the emoji screen there's no way to swipe back to the standard keyboard without selecting an emoji.

Response from developer

Hi Kyle! There sure is: just swipe back down to get to the regular keyboard :)

🚨 falta espa#ol y portugues

Urgente se#ores se necesita los princupales idiona del mundo 🇧🇷🇨🇴🇪🇸🇪🇨🇻🇪🇲🇽🇵🇹 ????. se esta pagando dinero

Response from developer

El dinero primero, el idioma después. Soportamos muchos idiomas, incluidos el español y el portugués.

Fantastic Fleksy replacement.

This keyboard is the perfect minimalist replacement for Flecks users. Its worked great so far!

Response from developer

Happy to hear that!

The autocorrect is really terrible

I'm going go (to) tupr (type) this review and lea-be (leave) in all my typos, fixing them in parentheses. Most of the tike (time) when I type a word, the autogorreftion (autocorrection) dkes (does) it (not) kick on (in) like it should, and swiping down tor (for) forextions (corrections) either leads ti (to) other indirect (incorrect) words or nothing at all. Fleksy was much, much better. I can't use this app moving feared (forward) if this is nag (not) addressed.
