Used to love this app - what happened
I used to love findery - it seems it has been abandoned. Nothing works anymore. Can’t get into old account. Can’t create new account. Beautiful stories and memories lost forever. I wish I could at least get back the wonderful posts I created.
GPS vs. battery
I dont like how it needs to use your gps on your cellphone to search nearby. I would like it for the app to use the zipcode or name of town & state to search nearby. So instead i hit search and use the app for nearby that way. By using the gps on the phone it decreases battery life. Other then that it’s a great app-i just would like to have the option of using less of my battery.

Tons of potential
Great idea, but execution needs work. Creators need to invest more time in this and I think it has tons of potential to be something great for our wanderlust generation

A beautiful app for storytelling
Using Findery is joy. It's a way to capture and discover moments of life that should be shared with others. I can find everything from little daily stories to travel tips and new neighborhood places.
A work in progress, with a lot of potential
Findry has a lot of potential to be a great and helpful travel app. Specifically finding local and off-the-beaten path locations. After using the app to add and look for things, I wish there was a way to filter out random posts from people i.e. Dinner with family at ______. And instead have, say categories, to select what kind of post your note is (museum, park, restaurant, historic location, personal memory, etc.).

Seems to be a useless app
I don't need to know where The Raleys is located or graffiti is on the street I just wanted to know cool places to go near and far and this app does not show you any cool places to go

Fun note-sharing
I love to use Findery to map my travels. I make notes is my favourite places to visit, eat and stay and basically create also travel itineraries to share with others. I also use Findery to find new places when I'm on the go. A fab app altogether!

Great way to connect with other travelers
I’ve been using Findery for about six months, and it has been a great way to connect with other travelers. I’ve used it on my trips to find places, and made note maps so others can find what I have found on my travels. I also like that as a travel blogger it has given me a new venue to reach readers. I also like the embed widget I can use on my website. I highly recommend Findery for those who like to discover new places, whether they are close to you - or far.

Couch traveling
I love using the Far option to look at places I've never been. I can spend ages flipping through the notes in places like Fiji, Sydney, and Peru. So many beautiful places and cool tidbits all over the place.
Buggy & Annoying
Account required to avoid being constantly asked about it. Bugs appeared with a minute. Lasted about 2 minutes before I deleted app. Makes me question how this got an editors choice. I guess it's the thought that counts.
Awesome idea but there's no way to work it
I tried the help bar and cannot seem to figure this out. Wanted to add my Europe travels but every time it would say my current location. Directions said to tap the create bar to make a note. There is no create bar anywhere. I have an iPhone 6.
GPS can never find where I am in Waikiki
Tried this app to find cool things on vacation in Hawaii, but you click near by and it always says can't find your location. Been trying for 2 hours killed my battery turning on and off location services, uninstalled reinstalled app, restarted iphone... I have an iPhone 6 plus.
Unique
This app allows you to add notes to physical places. People have added notes about historical events at locations around you, intimate details of their lives that happened around you, and everything in between. You can use this to keep track of places you want to visit or places you've been, turn people on to cool things around you, all sorts of neat things.

Not for locals
This app is great for tourists wanting to take a page out of another travelers book, but is just about useless for locals. The first 3 "found" spots, were a well-known local restaurant, a graffiti wall (I live in Austin, it would be more impressive to find a wall that doesn't have graffiti art on it) and the 20 mile park running through the city.. It took about 5 minutes to find something that I didn't know was here, or that was worth clicking on, and it ended up being a 'fun tourist activity' an hour and a half from where I live. I will say, this issue isn't due to the makers of the app, and the app itself is fairly easy to navigate, but there needs to be some separation from the tourists visiting and ranting about places you've been to 100 times, and locals that found random cool stuff that's unknown to most.
