Shyte…
Enough said.
Great help in planning my pergola layout
I love the concept and it’s helping me greatly with my backyard shade design, though the website is much better. Really need transparent sides feature that’s available in the website.
Don’t waste £1.79 on this
Complete waste of time.
Absolute rubbish
Do not purchase!
A useful, inexpensive and easy to use app
I wanted to determine the extent to which a planned garden shed would affect sun exposure on my, and my neighbors properties.
I chanced upon Find My Shadow while looking for an easy to use tool for this kind of calculation, and found the online version was sufficient to meet my needs. The ios app had some very negative reviews based on an earlier version, so I contacted the author who responded very quickly and stated that updated app was as good as the online version, with some additional features.
I bought the app and have used it with great success. I am very happy with the results.
The user manual is somewhat out of date. However, after my experience with the on-line version, it was very straightforward to use the app and obtain good results without significant issues. The “learning curve” is not steep.
In summary, the current version of the app is an inexpensive, easy to use tool which will be useful for gardeners, small builders and photographers who need to simulate sun and shadow for a specific location.

Really Nice App
Simple to use and does what it is intended for. What might be nice is readymade house shapes or the ability to copy an object.
Well done
Well done
Question
how do you set object angle eg it’s orientation re North and also objects length and width Your windows version can
Missing function
The app is great, but surprised that they didn’t include the daily aggregate function similar to the website, which is super helpful for planning. Would love to see it added to the app!
Terrible
Such and awful app that is filled with limitations
Complete waste of money for an idea that could be so helpful in aiding with prospective planning permission

shadowzeeeeeeeeeee
Gave up on this not long after purchase - good idea, but I was expecting to be able to load hill heights etc - couldn't find that, if its there?
Superb app!
This is an excellent app. I have found it extremely useful in planning garden plantings around my property. I have measured the actual shadows cast in a number of sites and found them to be exactly as predicted by the app.
I am puzzled as to why a couple of other reviews found the app disappointing. Perhaps they made my initial silly mistake of confusing north with west on the scene screen!

Clever app... does what it promises
This app, which is modeled on a website with the same features, delivers although it takes some trial-and-error to use it efficiently.
I’d give it a fifth star if some of the following features were added:
• Saved “Scene” parameters. When saving a “scene,” it appears that the background picture and time zone is not saved to the scene, forcing the user to redo those steps when opening a saved scenario. It would be nice to have a checklist of parameters that get saved with each scene.
• iCloud Support. For those of us who split our time between an iPad and iPhone, it would be useful to have iCloud support so saved scenes are available on any device.
• User-selectable shadow colors. I bought this app to simulate the impact of new building construction on neighbors’ houses. It would be great if I could select different shadow colors to illustrate shadows from the proposed construction as compared to existing structures.
• Animation Export. Finally, I’d love the ability to animate a scene throughout a day and export that as a video to Photos, or to send it as text or email attachment. I was able to use the iPhone screen capture to approximate this, but would love to see it as a native feature.
I recommend this app.

Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback. Several of your wishes are now implemented in version 4, out today! (as well as many other improvements)
Thumbs down
I just typed up a detailed explanation of why this app was not useful to me and it vanished because the nickname was taken! Anyway I do not recommend this app because it didn't allow me to see the shadows cast from a house. Website guidance didn't help.
Ok but could be much better
Features like being able to scale a background or even better integrate with a mapping service to use their scales.
Also would be nice to be able to zoom into the scene so you can manipulate the objects easier.

Total rip off get it out of the App Store now!
Mr peeling
Useless don't buy it
Useful app
Great idea, things that I would add to app are,
*Compatibility with Google maps satellite.
*Easier to add the shadow layers.
*Copy and paste particular layers.
*Easier to understand what the measurements are, what does the height represent I am not entirely clear.
*Therefore a guide to help would be good giving people an idea on rough heights of 2 storey dwellings etc.
Thanks again for a good idea and a possibly great app!

Agree with Tishalyn
Wish I'd read Tishalyn's review. Exactly right. Was expecting something like the Sun Seeker app but with shadows added to a Google Map satellite image to show extent of ground level shadows once a building height was entered. It's just got a bunch of tables and boxes. My fault I suppose. Should have paid more attention to the reviews but in my defence, it does seem to show satellite images and blocks on top of houses. I suppose the calculations are there, so it could be improved in the future. Perhaps it already does do what I want but I can't get it to do it from within the app. It either lacks the needed functionality or if it's there, clear instructions. I can't tell which. Anyway, as it stands it's no use to me.

Disappointing
Thought I could use this app to help design my garden - so very basic - zero instructions and totally not user friendly. Shame - was a great idea.
Disappointing
The 'shadow' feature is useless. Everything else is free on the Internet.
