This app is AMAZING. It has so much power and potential, and has features I’ve never seen in any other music software, and it’s FREE WITH NO IN APP PURCHASES OR ADS!(edit: its 50 cents a month. My bad. I honestly didn’t even notice any ads. Subscribed!) This is clearly a labor of love that deserves recognition and funding to be refined into the absolute powerhouse it can be! A few UI tweaks for streamlining the playability and some stability and latency improvements, and this could be on par with the big dogs.
Also it has a lightweight but full featured tape recorder device that could be a standalone paid app in and of itself. Essentially a sampler with a tapedeck “scratching” effect, that if polished up a bit, would be a bit like the tape effect on the teenage engineering OP-Z.
To frame it for you: I downloaded this on a whim, not even reading more than a sentence it two about it. I’ve maybe left 2 other App Store reviews in the past 10 years. Please, someone richer than me give the developer all the money to give this the work it needs to go from cult classic to literally bar-setting.

I’m going to edit my previous not so pleasant review.
My original review was horrible because of my frustration of an app that has tons of potential. Well the bugs are fixed and I’ve had no crashes or problems whatsoever.
This app is great and I’m having a blast. This has a factory set of sounds that as far a drum machines, sampling workstations go that’s pretty much awesome. Lots of usability here. The import, export functions and open in has me shooting audio all over the place. Fun! The real to real portion of the app is something that is new to me and I have just about everything iOS music creation that’s worth having, is freakin great! Love it for messed up, deranged, sample mangling. Bravo developers for fixing the issues and being personally proactive is getting this app in good and usable shape. Thank you for something that I can use and enjoy.

This is a total performance work station type app....TriqTraq meets like BM2 for idevices!
Amazing factory sounds cool tape recorder sequencer and GUI.
Needs some MIDI but honestly this is everthing Maschine is NOT!

Very Impressive, but could use some quality of life improvements.
I have used this app for a little over 5 months now, and I am very impressed with it’s capabilities. The amount of options and choices you have at your disposal is awesome. With that in mind, i would like to mention just a couple issues I’ve encountered (even though I’m not sure if this app will be updated anymore 😢). One glaring issue I’ve encountered is with the tape recorder section. When you attempt to record for longer than 10 seconds, the recorded starts to glitch out and make crackle sounds, and if you’re overdubbing something, this glitching freezes the thing you’re overdubbing for around a half second, which really messes up any vocal rhythm you may have going. Another bug I’ve encountered is with pattern copying. For some reason, if you copy a pattern from say pad M or above, if you try to copy it and scroll back down at the same time, the controls freeze and you have to restart the app.
And if this app is somehow still going to be supported in updated, some more built in lead sounds and sub bass options would be nice, as I’ve found myself having used the vast majority of the current leads, and I’ve started to get just a little bored with them. It would make me extremely happy to have the developers continue to regularly support and update this app, as I use it upwards of 2 hours daily, and love to make music on it. :D
And if this app is somehow still going to be supported in updated, some more built in lead sounds and sub bass options would be nice, as I’ve found myself having used the vast majority of the current leads, and I’ve started to get just a little bored with them. Flawed but strong
This is a fun app. It's easy to understand, and has a great sound. I wish it could load it's own samples, but as of now, I'm unable to. I've contacted tech support so we'll see if that fixes things. I'll rate it 5 stars once that's fixed for me!

after several prompt responses from the software developer, I'm up and running. The issue was that the program looks for .wav files (lower case) and my files were .WAV. Their support pointed me in the right direction and now i couldn't be happier. 5 stars!

Update-- Ahhhhhh!!! Finally the long awaited update!!! Thank you so much!!!! I love this app but I didn't see anything about the metronome? Is it just me? It seemed to stop working after updating my iPad to firmware 4.2 beta and also its not working on my new iPod touch 4g running 4.1 firmware... Just a minor thing you might wanna check out. Thanks again though for the import export features!!! This is easily my favorite app I LOVE IT!!!
Edit... Scratch that! I didn't see it in the update list but sure enough the metronome is fixed in the newer firmware (4.1/4.2) Thanks sooooo much!!! 5 stars all the way I highly!! Recommend this app!

cool drum box
very different than the other drum boxes ive got. seems to be a toy but then it has all these very cool features right underneither thqt facade. i appreciate the mixer the weird piano keyboard for pitching the sounds melodically and i like the colors on the mix and sequence screen. pretty nice especially now on my ipad
sometimes when im bored of beatmaker or idrum or some other drum app i go to this and make something weird and cool. nice 8 bit sound set and in general a lot more of a library than other drum apps out there
one thing that messes me up sometimes is the holding a pad down takes you to the sound menu. sometimes i hold a pad down while playing and it goes into the menu when i dont want it too. maybe make the time longer before it goes to menu?
looking forward to an update whatever that mighgt bring! ipad native would be cooool

Satisfisfaction
I make beats on software such as Reason, Fruity Loops n Garage Band. I have to say this app satisfies my needs to make any beat instantaneous at whatever given time. Personally I like the user friendly interface; Pick up and play with ease. Cons: 1.Why not make a keyboard like the other key apps; the shape of this one is hella ugly. And add more keys! 2. Exporting your tracks in mp3 or wav format. 3. Importing sound packs and drum kits from the computer to this app. Major plus. 4. Sampling, if somehow I can chop n cut samples from my iPod music library, I Dont think no other app has done that b4. Thanks

Great but needs import/export
Great app. Intuitive controls, works beautifully, and the library of samples is pretty decent. This is clearly more toy than tool though as there is no way to import new samples other than through the mic, and no way to export your work. Once you fill all the kit slots you can't create anything new without wiping out something old. On the plus side, it is extremely intuitive and allows you to get ideas down quickly without jumping through lots of hoops. It would be a masterpiece with import/export functions.

Great app but don't dl until it's fixed
I love this app but don't dl till the update is fixed otherwise u might get frustrated and miss out on a great app. If ur like me u have all the "professional" apps and with the new expor function this will be right up there with the rest of them. I tried the instal method below and it worked until I closed it and now it's broke again (:/

Suggestions (other than the obvious needed update fix): Effects and import capabilities. With these additions it will become a fun powerful production station.

Better than ever! Just work with it, everyone.
After loading new update it always crashed. I transferred it to iTunes, removed it from my iPod and then reloaded it. Now it opens just fine. To find your old favorite kits and many new ones, hit "file" in the upper left hand corner. Then hit "open". You will find many, many new and cool kits. I love the Indian Tablas Kit. This app it better than ever and hopefully everyone who voted it below 4 stars will figure it out and go back and rerate this app as I have. (I went into a panic and gave it 2 stars before I figured it out).

I recommend anyone who enjoys creating music to download this app. It's well worth the price and will keep you occupied for hours. It's fun to make your own music our recreate others. Plenty of drumkits to choose from and is customizable to almost any ideal sound. Only thing I noticed is it crashes sometimes when you are creating your own user kit and if you slide up on the hi hat. You don't need to slide up just accidentally do sometimes. Great app though. It's my favorite thus far.

Oh wow!!!!
This gets 5 stars because it's the most exciting app since Beatmaker... It is NOT anywhere near as complete and fully featured as Beatmaker, however if this Dev were to release a "Pro" version of this they could give Intua a run for their money at some point down the road. I hate to compare though, because it really is apples and oranges. Things I like about this; the option to lay down a vocal track!!; the simplicity of the track consruction and editing, the GUI; sample variety and quality.
This really is sort of what I'd consider the pre-release, or toy version right now though - is there a way to save your songs? I haven't found it yet if there is.... Also badly needed- export functions, and the ability to make longer songs. And vocal overdubbing is a neccessity as well.
Loads of fun though overall- absolutely positively worth the download.
