About

Translator and dictionary at your fingertips. Fingertip helps you read in a foreign language: hold your iPhone over the page and point your finger just below a word. The app recognises the word, reads it aloud and translates it. HOW IT WORKS • Place your finger just below the word and hold still for a moment • The word is highlighted, read aloud and translated • Keep your finger there – and you get a short explanation of what the word means in this passage TRANSLATION IN CONTEXT Many words have more than one meaning. Fingertip reads the text around the word and picks the translation that fits the passage. YOU DECIDE WHAT YOU HEAR • Translate only, explain only, or both • Hear the original word first, or the translation straight away • Explanation in your language or in the language of the book • Choose a voice per language, including the high-quality voices of iOS MANY LANGUAGES You can choose from the languages for which iOS offers translation packs – including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. PRIVATE Text recognition, translation, explanation and speech all run on your iPhone. The camera image is neither stored nor transmitted. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking. GOOD TO KNOW • Explanations and translation in context require Apple Intelligence. Without Apple Intelligence the app translates the single word. • In dim or mixed light the built-in light helps; you can switch it on in the app. • Designed for printed text in books and magazines.
