Faster, calmer, and a new start. The map used to keep computing even when nothing was happening. That is fixed: it now comes to rest, and your location is no longer polled at full precision every second. You will notice it in battery life and temperature. New • A new welcome screen: fink greets you with the living map instead of an off-the-shelf landscape. • The map opens in a view that actually shows something. Tap the map icon to tilt between flat and angled, double tap to return to the default view. • Chat now supports photos, locations, your own sightings, bird cards, reactions, replies, editing and deleting. Use @ to mention people. • New "Performance" settings page: choose how many pins each map draws, separately for live map, guild and globe. • The full-screen globe filters by favorites, "not in atlas" and friends. • New map filters: friends only, not in atlas, just now. Improved • A bird that does not occur at your location now requires a photo as proof. • Wiki search works in both languages: "Common Blackbird" and "Amsel" both find the same bird. • Proof photos taken of a camera display are now accepted. Fixed • Crashes when zooming out and when opening chat or guilds. • Freezes of several seconds and permanently high battery drain. • The keyboard covered the chat input. • On Android: blurry bird heads, blotchy atlas birds, pins that only appeared after zooming out, picker wheels that would not spin, and headings in the wrong font. Plus more than a hundred smaller fixes!
