It appears that developers are posting positive reviews that do not reflect the app’s actual functionality. As a daily user of this app during my shifts, I can confirm there is no integration between the app and the primary PPE system. Additionally, claims of recent updates are misleading, as the App Store clearly shows that the app has not been updated in 11 months. These discrepancies undermine the credibility of the developers and raise concerns about their commitment to delivering a reliable and functional product.

The app appears to lack the necessary development and refinement to meet professional standards. Its simplistic design suggests that either it was rushed through production or prioritized profitability over usability for fire departments. It seems that Nova Zones, the app developer, may not have invested adequately in research and development. A notable issue is that the PPE inventory tracking program does not sync with the check-off app, preventing users and administrators from verifying that the checklist aligns with the inventory records. While this integration may not be required by NFPA, fire departments and companies should consider it essential before partnering with a developer that hasn’t delivered a cohesive, user-friendly solution. This disjointed design results in a need for manual verification across separate applications, reflecting a lack of engineering rigor.

Improvements Have Massively Helped
The recent updates pushed out have completely revamped the feel and functionality of this app. Our daily checks time is now massively cut down on.
The reporting system has also been integrated into the main PPE system to consolidate the places we need to pull information from. Great recent developments!

Coming Along Great
The app itself is very simple. With the company being newer to the fire vertical, they have done a great job listening to the feedback of customers to develop the app to meet our needs. They have been kind, patient, and have worked very diligently to make this app fit every NFPA 1851 compliant code. Very pleased and am excited to see the advances Innova Zones makes.
