FirstChair is an on-device AI practice coach for school band and orchestra wind players. Between lessons, when you practice alone, it sits beside you and shows your intonation, rhythm, and tone in real time — like a small teacher in your phone. Long-tone stability is scored from your amplitude and pitch variance. All of it is computed on-device, in milliseconds, using a YIN pitch detector and DSP scorers. AUTO PRACTICE TIME The timer only counts when you are actually playing. Take a break and it pauses automatically. Daily minutes accumulate, build streaks, and roll up into weekly progress. "I practiced 30 minutes today" stops being a guess. TEACHER-READY WEEKLY REPORT At the end of the week, FirstChair summarizes your per-day minutes, average intonation accuracy, and improvement over the previous week into a single shareable report.
