About

Fishing Log doesn't show off catches. It answers one question: is today worth going out? Open it and you get today's suitability index (0-100), plus the math behind it — six factors scored line by line: pressure trend, wind, rain, absolute pressure, temperature swing, and dawn/dusk window. When the score drops far enough, a safety cap kicks in and says it plainly: too windy, stay home. ■ Why you can trust the number · Pressure is read as a 24-hour trend curve: a gentle drop no longer scores like a plunge, and absolute pressure is scored separately · Wind uses the day's peak and rain the worst stretch of the day — no "average" smoothing · Scores carry the rule version they were computed with, so old sessions are never compared as if nothing changed · Scoring rules and weights are delivered by the server, so tuning doesn't wait for an app update ■ One weather timeline · The past 24 hours of observations and the next 24 hours of forecast share one chart: solid is what happened, dashed is forecast · Gaps stay gaps — nothing is interpolated · The index reads the same data, so when the score moves you can point at the stretch that moved it · Still water and flowing water use different weights: the same 72 means different things in each, and every spot can override it ■ Records that are only for you · Start a session → log one cast, two taps; zero catches still saves (a blank is data too) · The weather snapshot is carried in automatically and can't be edited, so your review matches the day as it was · Stats show sessions, blank rate and species collection — with the definition right next to each number ■ Fish reference, close at hand · 76 common freshwater and saltwater species, filtered by region, water, depth zone, habits, season, size, method and family · Your own species can carry aliases, family, habits, methods, baits and tips — only the name is required ■ Fish legally · Closed seasons and gear rules differ by country and region — check the rules where you fish before you go · Don't fish during a closed season, and follow local laws and regulations ■ Privacy · No account, no uploading of your spots or catches · Location is requested only when you tap "Use Current Location", at city-level accuracy, used only to fetch weather — plus a reverse-geocoded city name for display; no tracks, no location history · No tracking, no ad SDK Weather data: Apple WeatherKit (with QWeather as an automatic backup source). ■ Subscription Fishing Log Pro is an auto-renewable subscription: annual US$19.99/year with a 7-day free trial, quarterly US$7.99/3 months, monthly US$2.99/month. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Any unused part of the free trial is forfeited when you subscribe. Prices shown are for the U.S. storefront; other regions follow the App Store. What's New in Fishing Log

2.2.0

November 4, 2026

Fishing Log 2.2 scores the day in finer steps and turns the species list into something you can filter. ■ The index: from single readings to bands · Pressure is read as a 24-hour trend curve: a gentle drop (1-5 hPa) no longer scores like a plunge — it often comes before rain, when fish feed; only a steep drop (12 hPa and up) bottoms out · Absolute pressure is scored as a deviation from standard pressure, using sea-level values only, with no altitude conversion · Wind uses the day's peak and rain the worst stretch of the evaluation window — no averaging · The dawn/dusk window gained a midday band: noon is no longer "outside the window", just a small -2 · Still water and flowing water use different weights: flowing water down-weights pressure and wind, up-weights rain and water temperature; every spot can override · The rule version is stored with each score, so old sessions are never mixed with new ones ■ Weather timeline (free) · The past 24 hours of observations and the next 24 hours of forecast in one chart: solid is what happened, dashed is forecast, and gaps stay gaps · A new temperature trend card shares the same time window, so "pressure falling, temperature rising" reads at a glance · Chart and index read the same data — when the score moves, you can point at the stretch that moved it ■ Pro · Weather phases — pre-frontal, post-frontal, stable high and more — judged from the same timeline, with the evidence listed · A 48-hour lookback; when the server only has 24 hours it says so plainly · The index detail view expands layer by layer: what each factor scored, and why · Two extra factors: moon phase and season window ■ Fish management · The species library is now "Fish management": filter by region, water, depth zone, habits, season, size, method and family, multi-select · Your own species can carry aliases, family, habits, methods, baits and tips — only the name is required ■ Also in this update · Weight on each catch (kg / lb) · Pick a spot on the map when editing a spot, with the address saved · Dark Mode · No more vertical text or clipping at accessibility sizes · One spacing, corner radius and type scale across the app; all four tabs share a title bar · Fewer Chinese strings leaking into English and Japanese: city names, index units, phase evidence, species and baits in reviews · Fixed spot location being reset after returning from the map picker
