Hasn’t worked yet

Have measured 20 fish and goes through scanning then says to send to moderator and error. Doesn’t work

new update lost functionality

can no longer see a map of acceptable waters for contest.. i.e. before the update the Colorado HALO contest had a map of lakes that were “accepted” as part of the tourney.. now I can’t find that map

Kinda cool, but disappointed.

I don’t like that you need to have service to measure a fish. Several places I fish have limited service. Also, the remeasuring tool doesn’t seem to work. Fish identity seems to work well, but measurements seem close, but inconsistent.

Great for the industry

This will help the fishing community heavily. Whether a newbie, an annual angler or an everyday fish junkie, this is for you. Keep it up!

Super fun!

Love being able to take measurements quickly with this ball. I can keep the fish in the water and take pics - puts my mind at ease. Wish I could add rods, lines, reels and lure/bait info in my profile so I can quickly record my setup for each caught fish. Otherwise this is great!

My proof ball

Love the data it gives but frequently it says rainbow trout are other than rainbow trout

No

First of all there were issues with the app instantly upon installing and wanting to use it. There's not a tutorial anywhere. Second, it claimed that my phone/device storage was almost full so I could not take or use any photos. Completely untrue. I have huge amounts of storage on my phone, as a photographer already. So that wasn't right. Next, what is this orange ball that everyone has? Well, I found out you have to buy that thing. I didn't know I was supposed to purchase anything to use the app. Anyway, I clicked on the little link to buy that little orange ball, and it went straight to Amazon and it said it could not connect the page because they could not find that product. So I'm not going to recommend this, and I am uninstalling this app and not using it at all.

Buggy, no consistency

Seems like every time I open the app the UI changes. I don’t understand the thinking here; with the new UI brings more bugs. Make up your mind and refine the existing UI

Everything broke

Photo measurement and map now simply display null errors. Can’t measure my fish 👎

Fun new tool

Have had this now for a little bit. Lot of fun to use. Accurate. Simple. Love the data collection & map.

Worst fish measuring app yet

Each update keeps getting worse and worse. Less features and less precise measurements? Not looking forward to “version 4”. Do not buy the ball. Just keep a damn scale and measure tape with you.

Best app ever!!!

Been on the app since it was first launched. It has continue to improve as time goes on as AI does.

That dang noise is so silly

The newest update improved some issues that I complained about previously, thank you! My only gripe now is that when my phone is on “silent”, I don’t want to hear the AI measuring sound effect!

Response from developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback. We appreciate you calling this out. The scrolling issue you mentioned has been fixed in the latest update and the feed now scrolls smoothly again. The problem that limited loading beyond recent catches has also been resolved. Please update to the latest version and let us know if you notice anything else we’re continuously improving the experience.

Looks better, performs worse

The new update is more visually appealing, but the functionality of the social aspect of the app went to trash. The scrolling action locks onto a catch, instead of allowing for a continual smooth scroll. This is fine if you’re an iPad baby that watches reels 16 hours a day, but it makes no sense for this application. It’s also more recently limited me from scrolling past the most recent 5 catches. It simply won’t load any further.

Completely non intuitive

Upgraded to v3 - just cannot figure out how to measure my fish. No visible option to upload existing photo. Shot a video of new catch from within the app - it disappeared. Guys, please make it simple and straightforward, all these social media bells and whistles are worthless if I cannot simply measure my catch.

Christmas gift

I think I’d love it but I can’t sign in with my google account as there’s a bug

Don’t register then get a new phone

Had the ball registered. Worked fine. Got a new phone and the app won’t work. Says ball not registered. Did the addition portion and says the ball is already registered. I’m logged in as the same person. Won’t allow to add. Tech support delay is so long that by the time they respond it’s another day or more. And the solution can be had.

Convenient!

Such a great idea and easy way to safely and quickly measure fish!

Dude you were right!

“Dude, I had no idea that cutthroat was 22 inches!”
The fishtechy app sets the record straight! I love competitive fishing with my friends, and this app takes all the stress, exaggerated stories, and photography tricks out of the mix!

Perfect? No…but

Perfect? No…but it’s fun. I just wish you could filter the feed to friends only.
