Really inaccurate

Just id’d a rainbow triut caught this morning at Williams Lake, Spokane County, Washington.
App Identified the fish correctly but states this fish isn’t found at this location.
Says the water temperature is 50 something and the waves are 3’ high, but water temperature is 70 and wind is ~5mph, waves 6-12” high.
Will very likely cancel after this month.

Good

Very helpful

Email for everything

I can’t use this because it requires I put in an email to do anything but look at articles

Waste of time

Bought this to identify a fish my son just caught. Had the option to skip the login but nothing worked unless I signed up for an account. Signed up for a user account and confirmed email. It misidentified the fish and when I tried to ID it again it said I was out of credits. My son used google lens and it got it right in seconds, and he didn’t even have to sign into an account. What a waste of time.

Hello

Pretty good except it seems like I have to pay to catalog the fish

NOT FREE APP

You need to pay to use it IS NOT FOR FREE

Great … when it works

Gets the types of fish right, eventually. Even when you crop the photo super tight, it still takes a couple of tries to detect a fish.

Very good info to go with those fish it does identify though.

Muy buena esta aplicacion la recomiendo

Overrated

Often cannot identify or miss-identifies my fish. This App is overrated.

Lo mejor

Súper buena y muy útil

Requires Internet for ID

The app sounds like a great idea, the problem for offshore fisherman out of cell range, when ID is needed for a fish the app cannot work. Wish it would!

Súper herramienta para pescadores

Una herramienta muy útil en esta era de la tecnología para llevar con nosotros a nuestras jornadas de pesca

Very poor software

Didn’t identify the fish neither stored the picture of the fish to clarify later

Quality app…. When it works

I downloaded this app for a trip to the Florida keys to help identify species and the regulations, it worked great on some fish but I ran into 4 situations that it didn’t know the type and was sent to a “pro” but was never answered.
I also had times it said there was no fish detected when I would import a perfect side view of odd fish I believe are just not in the system.
I was excited to use it but was left disappointed having to download other apps.

Thank you for taking the time to share this! We're glad FishVerify worked well for some of your catches, that's exactly what we built it for. We're sorry about the four fish that went unanswered and for the "no fish detected" results on those side-view photos. We'd love another shot at identifying those fish if you still have the photos. Send them over to support@fishverify.com and an expert will manually identify them. We appreciate you being honest with us, this is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us get better. Tight lines! 🎣

Useless

Unable to download data for off line use. Difficult to cancel although it claims you may cancel anytime.

Works part time

Be nice if the identification occurred before the fish die
I will not be renewing

Not useful offshore!

Used during free trial one time to identify type of grouper. It could not and wanted to be connected to internet to work. Who has that 30 miles offshore.

Hello

No funciona si el cell no tiene covertura

Internet Require

With internet is great works like a charm without it useless it doesn’t work you can’t even see the regulations offline I don’t recommend if you don’t have a constant connection I wish they add a offline version.

I was excited at first, but…

I’m not an expert saltwater fisherman. I thought this was the perfect app to make sure I didn’t break the rules. First couple of times I used it, the weather was bad so I was fishing in the west Coast intercoastal waterway in Florida. Worked great. Then the weather calmed, and I took the boat out into the gulf. Well guess what? When you’re out of cellular range this app does nothing to help you real time. It says take a photo and when you get back to connecting to the Internet, it’ll tell you about the fish. Doesn’t really help me stay legal. Very disappointed and I won’t be renewing my $20 a year. Waste of money for my kind of fishing.

Thanks for your feedback. We understand how important real-time identification is when fishing offshore. Currently, FishVerify requires an internet connection for fish ID, as the image recognition happens in the cloud. We’re actively exploring offline functionality for future updates, and your input helps us prioritize improvements. We appreciate you giving FishVerify a try.
