What's New in FitFido

4.7.4

September 8, 2026

FITFIDO 4.7 EXPLANATIONS WHERE THEY MATTER The daily calorie target now explains which weight it used and why, the resting energy from that weight, the activity and neutering factor, and the target those produce. Feeding for the weight a dog should be, rather than the weight they have, is the point of the plan, and it was only implied before. Weigh-in calibration now shows the progress towards a reliable weekly rate rather than stating it. CHANGE HOW YOU FEED, WHENEVER YOU WANT Being told amounts or logging what you actually fed was a choice made once in onboarding and never revisited. You can now switch either way from the meal card, and keep your meal times either way. BUG FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS Improved logging of non-catalogue foods, cup measures on mixed meals now shown only when every food in the meal has one, more accurate food scanning, weights quoted in your own units by the coach, a consistent way back through every multi-step flow, correct plural forms in six languages, and a number of smaller refinements. FITFIDO 4.6 BODY CONDITION SCORING, REBUILT When you pick a body condition score, FitFido now tells you what it means for your dog: how far above or below a healthy weight that score puts them, and the healthy weight range for their breed. The ideal range is 4 to 5 on the nine-point scale, in line with the clinical reference. WEIGHT AND CALORIE CALCULATIONS CHECKED AGAINST THE SOURCE We went back through every weight and calorie calculation and checked it against the clinical nutrition reference FitFido is built on, with improvements to the calculations for dogs in the ideal range and for puppies. Estimated timelines now use the full safe range for weight loss, so they are longer and more honest. A CLEARER START Tell FitFido your main goal for your dog and it now explains how it will help with that goal specifically, before asking anything else. HOME The Weight tab is now Home. EASIER TO READ Text on tinted cards throughout the app now meets contrast standards in both light and dark modes. BUG FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS Corrections to the body condition labels, the target weight card, the daily energy explanation and the onboarding summary, plus a number of smaller refinements. FITFIDO 4.5 UI AND USABILITY IMPROVEMENTS Refinements throughout the app, plus bug fixes. FITFIDO 4.0 FREE FOREVER FitFido now has a permanent free tier. Weight logging, BCS scoring, and freeform meal logging have no time limit and no paywall. FitFido Member adds the AI coach, food scanner, reminders, health logs, and the full food catalogue. DAILY HEALTH LOG Track your dog's health every day. Log bowel movement scores, symptoms, and timestamped notes directly from the Health tab. Each entry builds a clear picture to bring to your vet. VET HEALTH REPORT Generate a PDF health report and share it directly with your vet. Choose which sections to include and set your time frame. Free users get weight and vaccination sections. Members get the full report. MEAL AND WEIGH-IN STREAKS Meal and weigh-in streaks now appear on the Weight tab. Reach a 30-day meal streak and the AI Health Coach generates a free personalised insight for your dog. CUSTOM MEDICATION DOSE TIMES Set exact reminder times for every dose in a multi-dose medication schedule, or let the app space them automatically. 48 LANGUAGES FitFido now supports 48 locales. BUG FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS Performance improvements, stability fixes, and a number of small refinements throughout the app.

Questionable

I don’t think the calorie data is accurate and calculations are questionable. I don’t trust what it is telling me.

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback. Calorie accuracy is the core of what FitFido does, so this is worth getting to the bottom of. The calculations come from the same clinical nutrition sources vets use, and every change we ship is checked against them. Food entries are a separate matter: much of that data comes from manufacturer labels, and label quality varies. A number that looks wrong is usually traceable to a specific food or a specific detail on a dog's profile, and both are fixable. We would rather correct it than guess. Email support@fitfido.co with the food or the figure that looked off and we will check it and reply.

My vet recommended this and I'm so glad she did

I was a bit skeptical. Claude (yes my choodle is named Claude) went for a routine checkup and my vet told me he was overweight. He was 11lbs and I just thought that was normal for him, he'd always been that size. But he'd started having trouble with his back legs and had stopped playing with his sister, which was really hard to watch. I was worried enough to try anything so I downloaded FitFido even though I wasn't totally convinced he even had a problem.

The meal planning function is what made the difference for us. You set up his schedule, tell it what he's eating, and it calculates everything out for you. We use it as a guide every day to actually weigh out his food, which I never did before. The calorie thing was a wake up call honestly, I'd been feeding him a brand I thought was healthy so assumed it was fine. It really wasn't.

I also shared the subscription with my wife which has been really helpful. We're both on the same page, we can both see what he's eaten, so there's no more "did you already feed him?" and accidentally doubling up. When you're trying to manage a dog's weight that stuff really matters.

Claude is now down almost a pound, which sounds small but on a little dog it's massive. He has a waist again. He's running around, playing with his sister and his dog friends, just acting like himself again. I had no idea how much the weight was affecting him until he didn't have it anymore.

Can't recommend this app enough. If your vet has mentioned your dog's weight and you're not sure where to start, this is exactly where to start.

It just works

I don’t use apps that much, but I’ve been on FitFido for a month and it's really great.
I like how you can scan the labels on food, set up meals, and it just works everything out for you. The meal planning is stupid simple and the medication reminders just set themselves up. Took me no time to get started and I haven't had to think about it since.
I care about what my dog is eating, and not missing supplements and medication and it can get complicated, but this cuts through the hassle.

Honestly didn't expect to like this app as much as I do

Been using FitFido for about a month now and I'm genuinely impressed. I went in skeptical, there are so many pet apps that promise a lot and deliver basically nothing, but this one's actually useful.

I have two senior dogs and a puppy. Between the different foods, supplements, medications and puppy-specific feeding schedules, it can get pretty hectic. This app has made a real difference.
The meal planning is where it really shines. Each dog eats different things at different amounts throughout the day and I switch things up pretty regularly. But you just scan the bag, choose how many meals, and it works out the split for you. Really easy to adjust on the fly when you want to change things up. It keeps a full history of everything each dog has eaten and makes recommendations on how much to feed based on the data it builds up over time. That part genuinely surprised me.

The medication and supplement tracking is also brilliant. One of my seniors had a short course of antibiotics recently and all I did was scan the label and it automatically set up reminders for the entire course. Didn't have to enter anything manually. For something I was dreading forgetting a dose it took about 10 seconds to set up.

I haven't set up the vet records section yet, planning to get to that this week, so I can't speak to that. But based on everything else, I'm expecting it to be solid.

If you've got multiple dogs with different needs, it’s a game-changer, actually does what it says.
