About

NYC CheerTrack helps you catch your runner at the New York City Marathon — even when they're moving faster than you can walk. Enter your runner's estimated finish time and wave start, and the app calculates when they'll pass each of 12 hand-picked spots along the course, from Bay Ridge in Brooklyn to the finish line in Central Park. For every spot, NYC CheerTrack shows: • Which subway line and station to use • Whether you have enough time to get there • One-tap directions in Apple Maps from wherever you are right now As the day goes on, confirm each spot you've checked off and the app guides you to the next one — flagging if you need to change subway lines, and warning you if you're cutting it close on time. Track multiple runners at once, each with their own schedule. Includes general race-day info: the start wave structure and how the post-finish family reunion area works in Central Park. NYC CheerTrack is an independent project built for spectators, by a spectator. It is not affiliated with New York Road Runners, the TCS New York City Marathon, or the MTA. All times are estimates — always confirm official race and transit information on race day.

What's New in FiveBoroRun

1.5

September 7, 2026

A rebuilt race-day experience. • New main screen: one card shows the next spot you can still reach — when your runner passes, how long you need to get there, and how much margin you have left. • Your whole plan at a glance: a compact timeline of all 12 spots, so you can see what's done and what's ahead without scrolling. • "I saw them pass here": tap it when your runner goes by and every estimate recalculates on their real pace instead of the goal time they entered. • Bib number: save it in the runner's profile to open the official NYRR tracking in one tap. • Clearer status: already passed, cutting it close and can't make it are now easy to tell apart at a glance. • Station closures: an alert only appears when no trains are actually stopping there, checked against live MTA data. • Better alerts: the "time to head out" notification now shows even while the app is open, and the finish-line alert follows your runner's real pace. • Race Info rewritten with official race details: wave start times, how to read a bib, and what happens after the finish line.
