About

Flagkeeper teaches you the flags of the world in a few minutes a day. You start with the easy ones and build up to all 193 UN member states. How it works Every day there is a short daily exercise: a few new flags and the ones due for review. Pick a goal of 5, 8 or 15 new flags a day, about 3, 5 or 10 minutes. Spaced review brings a flag back after a longer gap each time you get it right. A mistake brings it back sooner. Each flag climbs four levels. You pick the country, then pick it among look-alike flags, then pick the flag for a country, and at last you type the name. Typing accepts small typos, missing accents and other names, so "USA" counts for the United States. A flag is kept once you can type its name and still know it after a long gap. A new flag comes with its country on the map, the capital and one sentence on why the flag looks the way it does. After a wrong answer you see your choice next to the right flag, with the difference in one sentence. Look-alike flags open side by side, so you learn to tell them apart. Know some flags already? A 2-minute placement test moves them ahead. Daily puzzle One hidden flag a day, the same for everyone, with its own number. You have six guesses. Each wrong guess opens more tiles and shows how far away you are and in which direction. Dots show which colors of your guess are also in the hidden flag. Share your result without giving the answer away. The puzzle never counts against your streak. Practice Practice outside the daily exercise. Your answers count toward your progress but not your streak. - My confusions: the pairs you mix up most often - By region: Europe, Africa, Asia, Americas, Oceania - Go through all: every flag once, continuing where you stopped - Time attack: as many flags as you can in 60 seconds - Flag families: Nordic crosses, Pan-African colors, Pan-Arab colors and five more, with the story of why they look alike Progress - A world map colored by what you know - Every flag with your level, its next review, the year it was adopted, its proportions, its colors and what they mean - Statistics, an activity calendar and achievements - A streak with two streak freezes, and 48 hours to win back a lost streak - Up to two reminders a day, only if you want them Details - Flags keep their real proportions. Switzerland and Vatican City are square, and Nepal is not a rectangle. - English, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Italian, Polish, Hungarian, Czech and Slovak, with country names in the language you choose - Light and dark mode, your phone's text size, a colorblind mode and reduce motion - Add the 2 observer states and 52 territories for up to 247 flags. Changing the set never deletes your progress. - When a country changes its flag, an update brings the new one. If you had started that flag, it goes back into your reviews. Free and offline Flagkeeper is free. No ads, no tracking, and you don't need an account. Learning, the daily puzzle and practice all work offline, and your progress stays on your phone. If you want a backup, sign in with Apple or Google. Your progress then moves with you to a new phone.

What's New in Flagkeeper

1.1.0

November 3, 2026

You can now play up to three puzzles a day. After the daily puzzle, you can play two extra puzzles. Each is an older puzzle you haven't played yet, and extras don't count in your stats. Before an extra puzzle, a short clip may show you a part of the app you haven't tried yet, such as Time attack or the world map. Your streak now grows on every day you finish something: the daily exercise, a practice round or the puzzle. Winning isn't required.
