Exactly what I was looking for

This is basically perfect. Wanted a binaural beats app with music. Other free apps only had the beats (no music), and the beats+music apps were all freemium with limited free options and too many ads and pop ups.

The only suggestion I have for improvement is that the phone doesn’t seem to recognize the app as an audio app. So I can’t pause and play from phone’s Lock Screen or in the widget, I have to go into the app. For example, when a podcast is playing and the screen is off, I can pause and play the podcast from the Lock Screen. For some reason that’s not the case with Flow State. But that’s my only suggestion and seems like a straightforward technical fix.

Text irritant

Concept is neat. Several texts a day spamming is not. Don’t install if you are trying to focus on actual work! Uninstalled and phone blocked the app to stop texts from breaking my work concentration. I’d be ok with email adverts but abusing my time by texting my cell is not ok.

I wish I knew about this sooner!

This app has completely changed the way I sleep. I have high anxiety and my stress seems to always manifest in the form of bad dreams. I would toss and turn nonstop, clench my jaw, and wake up several times during the night. Not anymore! I started using this app and listening to the sleep setting all night (I know that’s not what you are meant to do, but I fall asleep so fast I forget to take my headphones off.) I never thought I would be able to shut off my stress dreams, but this app made that possible and I am so thankful!

It works! I don’t know why I’m surprised

I have a job that requires focus for analytics of financial statements, cash flow modeling, and writing. After 20 years of this, it can be hard to find motivation and focus but I tried this app and wow, for 3 hours straight I got more work done than usual and the time went by quickly. I’m a believer in sound therapy and have used it often in the past for meditation; this levels sound therapy up by a lot. Thankful I have watched The Challenge and have Wes as a fave, who I found this app through his Instagram posts. Try it...it won’t hurt you to just try it out for yourself.

Music is too techy

I was hoping for some ethereal style music that helps you focus, but this is all just techy sounds and is often more distracting or just annoying. I’ll stick to classical and video game tracks, I guess...

FAQ

What is Flow State Systems?

Flow State Systems is a mobile application that utilizes music embedded with subliminal tones and binaural beats to help users enter specific mental states. These states are designed to enhance focus for tasks like studying or working, promote relaxation, or aid in falling asleep.

How does the app work?

The app plays songs with different frequencies into each ear, a technique known as binaural beats. Your brain attempts to sync these slightly different frequencies, which distracts it from external distractions and helps it concentrate on your chosen task or desired mental state. You select a task, a tone preference, and an ambient music vibe.

Is there a cost to use Flow State Systems?

No, the app is completely free to use. There are no download fees, advertisements, or subscription requirements. The developers state there is no catch to using the application.

What are the requirements for using the app?

To effectively use the app, you must wear headphones, as the binaural beat technology relies on delivering different frequencies to each ear. The app is designed to help you sync your brainwaves to optimal frequencies for your chosen task, which may take 10-20 minutes to take effect.

What kind of tasks can this app help with?

The app is designed to assist with a variety of tasks, including studying, working, brainstorming, relaxing, and falling asleep. By optimizing your mental state, it aims to make you more productive, creative, and better rested.
