About

The Flowfal app connects to a set of Flowfal plug-ins that can be added to Ableton Live sets. Movement data from your phone or watch is then sent by the app to Ableton Live: - Acceleration in three dimensions - Rotation in three dimensions - Device Attitude (yaw, roll and pitch) This movement data can then be used by the various Flowfal plug-ins to map to device controls, gate MIDI streams, control track volume and much much more. Flowfal can be used: - As a new way of modulating sounds in the studio in ways not possible with normal control surfaces - As a tool for bringing more of a performance aspect to live electronic music - As a way for contemporary dancers to add movement-generated sound to a piece - For mindfulness focussed group work - For immersive installations - For control of visuals If you have an Apple Watch then starting the Flowfal app on the watch allows you to send movement data from the watch (as well as the phone). Because of the applications in dance and mindfulness, the Watch app will also create a Mind and Body workout for each session where you have a Flowfal channel selected. This will allow you to monitor your heart rate and energy burned during a Flowfal session. You will get a prompt on your phone or on the watch to allow access to Health data to allow these workouts to be shown and saved.

Removed HealthKit prompt on the phone as this was confusing. The HealthKit prompts now just appear on the Apple Watch if you use that app
