Essential tool for HSK one learners
This is as close to a perfect HSK Chinese app as I can imagine. A pleasant female voice reads stories in Chinese while it shows the Pinyin, the Chinese characters and the English translation in perfect synchronization with the woman speaking.
I am currently learning HSK level 1, but Fluentide can do four levels of HSK. I think you set the higher level HSK by pressing the "harder" button.
Although I’ve only been using Fluentide for a week, already my familiarity with Chinese is increasing noticeably, as measured by my more rapid improvement using another excellent beginner Chinese app called “Hello Chinese”.
Fluentide has thoughtful, well designed features including the ability to slow down through a slider the rate that the woman speaks Chinese and buttons to make the Chinese harder or easier. It's easy to pause/resume using the "clicker" on my Apple USB wired ear buds.
I signed up for a full year subscription a week into the generous two week free trial subscription. Fluentide has more features that look very useful which I haven’t had time to experiment with yet including grammar and vocabulary tabs that match the Chinese story currently being read.
Fluentide is truly a "must have" app for HSK 1 (and higher) simplified Mandarin Chinese learners.
The developers seem to be continually improving Fluentine. I just noticed that two days before I wrote this review, the developers added two levels of pre-HSK level stories.

I LOVE IT
The application is so easy to use and it’s super efficient at the same time, been using it for a couple of days now, and I really did enjoy the concept of just listening and then understanding as you go. Loving the UI too. Thanks for creating such a great application !
