About

You already scroll. Fluentish makes the scroll teach you a language. An endless feed of tiny exercises that adapts to what you actually know. Spanish, Italian, French, German, Arabic, or English. No long lessons, no sessions, no end screens, no guilt. HOW IT WORKS • Scroll. Cards arrive continuously: match a word, complete a sentence, pick what you heard, read a three-line story. More than a dozen card types, shuffled with rhythm. • Answer. Mostly by tapping: silent, one-handed, fine on a train or in bed. • That's it. Fluentish watches how fast you answer, not just whether you're right. Fast and correct means you know it. Slow means shaky. Wrong means not yet. Nothing ever asks "did you know this word?" Your thumb already said. WHAT'S DIFFERENT • A placement that respects you. Two minutes of cards and you start at your real level, 1 to 10, not back at "the apple." • Difficulty that adapts immediately. Under the visible level is an honest, volatile estimate of your ability, and the feed serves content right at its edge. • Spaced repetition without a deck. Words you know retire quietly into review and resurface just before you'd forget them. Nothing is ever "done." • A Lessons tab you browse, never a course you have to work through. What sits behind the cards, in one place: the alphabet or sound system, grammar notes, conjugation and declension tables with a play button on every single form, greetings and politeness, and short true notes about the language itself. All of it free. • Speech stays private. Speaking cards are graded from text, not audio: your recordings never reach Fluentish. Your phone does the recognizing, on device where it supports the language and otherwise through Apple's own speech service, the same one behind your keyboard's dictation key. FREE AND PLUS Scrolling is unlimited on the free tier. Genuinely unlimited: no daily cap, no hearts, no counter running out mid-scroll. Free covers every level up to your placement level (and at least levels 1–3, the 500 most useful words). If you place at level 6, level 6 is free, forever. Fluentish Plus unlocks advancement through all 10 levels, typing and speaking cards, dictionary export (CSV and Anki), one streak repair a month, and a streak pause of up to 14 days for holidays, illness or exams. $7.99/month or $39.99/year, with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan. Break a streak and you're not on Plus? A one-off Streak Save is $0.99. That is the only other thing there is to buy in here. THE HONEST PART Fluentish has seven language pairs: Spanish, Italian, French, German and Arabic for English speakers, plus English for Spanish and French speakers. Each direction is its own course, generated and checked separately rather than mirrored from another language, which is why there are seven and not seventy. More are coming as we get there. The app itself speaks English, Spanish and French, so you can read the interface in your own language while you learn another one. What's New in Fluentish

1.2.2

Arabic, a whole new tab, and a lot of small repairs. ARABIC English speakers can now learn Arabic: more than 3,500 words across all ten levels, Modern Standard Arabic, taught from the alphabet up. Early cards carry the short-vowel marks that tell you how a word is really pronounced, and shed them as you climb, the way real Arabic does. THE LESSONS TAB A third tab beside Feed and Dictionary, holding what sits behind the cards: the alphabet or sound system, grammar notes, conjugation tables with a play button on every form, greetings, and short true notes about the language itself. It is free, all of it. IF YOU BREAK A STREAK Plus has always included one repair a month. Without Plus, a one-off Streak Save is now $0.99 instead of watching the count go to zero. Neither one nags you. ALSO Every course is bigger and more carefully checked than it was, speaking cards are steadier, and there are a lot of smaller fixes throughout.
