About
Fluke shows you who you were near today - without sharing where you are.
Every day you walk past people you'd love to know. Fluke captures those moments privately and shows them to you as encounter cards. When both sides are curious, you can connect, chat, and share stories.
HOW IT WORKS
Go about your day with Fluke running in the background. The app generates a fuzzy location — a roughly 150-metre grid cell and a 15-minute time window — and pairs it with an anonymous Bluetooth signal. No precise coordinates ever leave your phone. When someone else was in the same fuzzy area at the same time, Fluke creates a mutual encounter card. You see them, they see you — each as a pseudonymous profile until you both choose to reveal more.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Your precise location is never stored or transmitted. Bluetooth proximity uses a rotating anonymous token that can't be used to identify or track you. All on-device location data is automatically deleted after 24 hours. Server records are tied only to coarse geographic cells and time buckets — Fluke cannot reconstruct where you were or where you went.
CONNECT ON YOUR TERMS
Browse your encounter cards. If you're both curious, send a connection request to reveal full profiles and open a private chat. Share ephemeral stories with people you've crossed paths with — posts expire after 24 hours. Block or report anyone instantly and anonymously; blocked users disappear from your feed, connections, and stories immediately.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Fluke requires iOS 17 or later, Bluetooth enabled, and Location access set to "Always" so encounters can be detected while the app is in the background. Sign in with Apple keeps your identity private from day one.
ABOUT YOUR DATA
Fluke collects the minimum needed to make the product work: a coarse fuzzed location (never precise coordinates), an anonymous Bluetooth proximity signal, your pseudonymous profile (handle, emoji, optional display name and photo), content you choose to create (messages, story photos and videos), and an Apple-issued identifier for authentication. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
