WHAT THE WEATHER IS ABOUT TO DO A METAR tells you what the weather is right now. This release tells you where it is going — and what would change your mind. GO IF… Every CAUTION and NO now tells you what would clear it, with the number attached: - "GO if the ceiling lifts 400 ft" - "GO if the wind eases 3 kt" - "GO if you leave by 2:15 PM" - "GO if it cools 6 °C — try early morning" - "GO if you're home by 4:00 PM" It appears on the verdict banner, on each reason, on your airport list, and on the plan card you share. A field that used to be a dead end is now a decision. TREND ARROWS Ceiling and visibility now carry an arrow — improving, steady or deteriorating — with the rate behind it, like "ceiling lifting 400 ft/hr". A 1,200 ft ceiling that is lifting is a completely different day from a 1,200 ft ceiling that is dropping, and until now the app showed you the same number for both. And when a ceiling is below your personal minimum but climbing toward it, the two combine: "GO if the ceiling lifts 400 ft — on this trend, around 2:40 PM." Now you know when to look again. EXPECTED RIDE The question your passenger actually asks. One word — Smooth, A few bumps, Bumpy or Rough — worked out from surface gustiness, the wind shear between the ground and your cruise altitude, and how likely the afternoon is to be thermal, with the reasons spelled out underneath. It is a comfort estimate, not a turbulence forecast, and it never changes the go/no-go verdict. AIRSPACE - New: Avoid Class B and Avoid Class C filters. Separate switches that work together, so you can plan a day that stays clear of the busy airspace entirely. - New: airspace class on the airports list, in the destination brief, and on the shared plan card. - Class comes straight from the current FAA NASR cycle, for every field that has one — around 900 airports. Fields the FAA publishes no class for are never guessed at, and never hidden by the filters. - New: your Wheels Down export now carries an Airspace column. AIRPORT DATA Corrections no longer have to wait for the next 28-day FAA cycle. A fixed database now reaches you as a data revision in between — Settings → Airport data shows which one you are on. As always: Flybound is a planning aid, not for navigation. Verify frequencies, airspace, runways, fuel and NOTAMs against current official sources before you fly.
