About
FMCS-B737 is a hands-on trainer for the 737-type Flight Management Computer System. It reproduces the CDU page by page — IDENT, POS INIT, RTE, DEP/ARR, RTE LEGS, RTE DATA, HOLD, FIX INFO, PROGRESS, PERF INIT, N1 LIMIT, TAKEOFF REF, CLB, CRZ, DES, APPROACH REF, NAV DATA and the ATC datalink set — with the page grammar, prompts, fonts, colours, entry formats and scratchpad messages of the real unit, so that the routine of cockpit preparation can be rehearsed away from the aircraft.
THREE GENERATIONS
Choose 737 Classic, NG or MAX at start-up, and the unit comes up as that airplane's. The Classic is a monochrome CDU with its own software build and its own TAKEOFF REF, PERF LIMITS and RTE layouts; the NG and the MAX are colour MCDUs with their own page counts, derate ratings and descent logic. The differences are the ones the manuals document, not cosmetic labels.
WORLDWIDE NAVIGATION DATABASE
Airports, runways, waypoints, navaids, airways and terminal procedures (SIDs, STARs, approaches with transitions) are selected from an embedded worldwide database, compiled from openly published sources. It is a training snapshot, not a current AIRAC cycle. Build a complete flight plan from the departure runway to the destination approach, insert holds, offsets, constraints and forecast winds, use DIRECT TO and INTERCEPT COURSE, and store your own waypoints, navaids, airports and runways.
NAVIGATION DISPLAY
An EFIS control panel with mode and range selectors opens the ND in MAP, centred MAP and PLAN: the active, modified and inactive route states, waypoint and navaid symbols, the runway with its extended centrelines, holding patterns, and the optional STA / WPT / ARPT / DATA layers.
FEEL OF THE UNIT
Key response latency, haptic key clicks and a worn panel finish reproduce the feel of the equipment. The whole application works offline and collects no data.
FAITHFUL, AND HONEST ABOUT ITS LIMITS
Every page is built from a page-by-page specification taken from the manufacturer's manuals. The trainer carries no airplane performance database and no position solution, so the values only those could produce — takeoff N1, V speeds, stabilizer trim, predicted times and fuel — are shown the way the unit itself shows data it does not have, rather than being invented.
SUBSCRIPTION
Free: MENU, IDENT, POS INIT, the RTE page, PERF INIT, PERF LIMITS, N1 LIMIT, TAKEOFF REF and flight-plan viewing on RTE LEGS. Everything else (flight-plan entries and revisions, departure and arrival procedures, HOLD, FIX INFO, LATERAL OFFSET, PROGRESS, the climb, cruise and descent pages, NAV DATA, the datalink pages and the navigation display) requires an auto-renewable subscription: Monthly Access, 1 month, USD 12.00, or Yearly Access, 1 year, USD 100.00. There is no free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase; the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed in your Apple Account settings.
