I love this app
I’ve tried a lot of focus / app blockers but this one together with Focused Work are the winners. One mild complaint is that the sync to other devices isn’t very reliable, I often have to bring the app forward in iOS to get it to realize the state has changed, it’s not the end of the world but it is a fairly conspicuous hiccup. It’s not so bad if it’s stuck in focus mode, but if it’s stuck in not-focus then I can find myself in my distractions if I pick up the phone without thinking. I really do need to be able to trust it reliably. As it is I try to double check at the beginning of a flow session and usually it will stay in sync through the whole thing.

Just doesn’t work
I want to use it as a way to block a bunch of apps while paired with the dumb phone app but its not even blocking the apps I want it to. It will just open up like I never set up any permissions. Disappointing
What happened after I “thought” focused OS would be good
With me using an iPad and thinking focused, OS would be good for me it strings my screen to the size of a phone which in my opinion is unacceptable I want a full screen, Wawawa!

It does what I need it to do at a great price.
It’s a little buggy to set up initially. It won’t let you select certain categories of activities without restarting the app or something. Also, at least I guess it was in the trial week, It would not differentiate between the environments.
But I just have one environment so it’s nice to focus when I need to.
The audio features are very nice touch. It would be nice to incorporate with other media players like Spotify with set playlists much the same as Nike Run Club.

Great app but has a fundamental flaw!
Great app but has a fundamental flaw! It can be turned off!
I’m using this to help with focus but if I want to go on Facebook I just turn it off!
I did try and solve this using automated shortcuts with turning it back on if it’s during a certain time but the problem is this triggers every time I load the app and just errors out as there is no way within the shortcut settings of focus os To get the state of the current focus.

Immediately Increased Productivity!
Just finished my first "Session" with the app and already I love it. It blocked out all my other distracting windows that I need, but don't want to see every second. I also loved the fireplace sound to block out all other distracting noises!

Thoughtfully designed
Really love using this. I asked the developer for a new feature and he built it really quick! Really handy to keep my focused on something and not letting me get distracted by the pretty colors in another window

You can see the value of focusedOS from the first time you use it. I didn't realise how much I was distracted by opening my browser until I starting using this. Love the one switch to enable your environment. Well worth the upgrade to pro!
Love the simplicity
My fav feature is the fact that it hides all the windows in one tap, and it syncs with my iPhone. LOVE that!

Needs work
This app shows promise but isn't yet greater than the sum of its parts. This app is begging for the ability to set a timer when turned on. Being able to set it on a schedule would also be nice.
The ability to turn off wi-fi and block apps is good, but it's too easy to just shut off focus mode to use the stuff I have blocked. An option to turn it on for a specified time and lock it so that it can't be turned off would be great.
Another minor quibble is that the app has to remain open in the dock for the top bar icon to remain visible. It would be nice to be able to close the app but have it remain open in the background like other apps do.
I feel like the app is trying to do a lot of things but not doing any of them quite as well as the individual apps it's trying to replace, but maybe it will get better with time and refinement.

I've added the option to hide the dock icon in the focusedOS 1.1 update which will be released this week - you will be able to find it in the Settings screen. Thanks! I'll keep some notes around the idea of setting timers, scheduling, enforcing stricter blocking. The first two are things I had initially considered but didn't make the cut for the app release. Perfect to concentrate on what really matters
This app is amazing to avoid all distractions and to focus on your studies (it’s for what I use). I found it handy that locks all the apps, when I noticed my social media apps were locked it acted as a reminder to continue studying 🥹
Great Idea, Great Implementation
I’ve been using this app for a few days and already seeing improvements to my productivity. The simple act of deciding that I’m in focus mode and flipping the switch is surprisingly helpful for my mindfulness.
