DOES NOT WORK

As indicated in the App Store or otherwise. Will be requesting a refund.

Response from developer

Hi, please get in touch with the support if you need help with the setup. The app works as described in the App Store and as rated by many satisfied users. Alternatively you can of course directly request a refund. Kind regards, Marian Koenig

A seeming waste of money

I purchased the app, but the whole setup is cryptic and support info is very limited on how to use the app.

I had hoped it would mirror a similar type of Windows desktop organizer, but no such luck so far.

I would like a refund!

Response from developer

Hi, I am sorry to for that and that the app does not serve your needs as it does for the majority of its users. If you like please please provide further details via mail@mariankoenig.com – of course you can request a refund. This has to be done directly via Apple, as I am only receive a certain amount of each (satisfied) purchase. Here‘s the link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/118223 – Kind regards, Marian Koenig

It’s simple and it works.

What more can I say ? 😁

Response from developer

Thanks a lot, I am really happy for this feedback. Best regards, Marian Koenig

Great but why can’t the home screen work like the lock screen?

There is no way to make it go directly to my file/folder rather than to the app first?

It does it with the lock screen option.

Also pictures for file logos or something would be nice if possible.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback and your rating. I will keep the hint regarding custom file icons in mind for the upcoming updates. Regarding the app first approach after tapping a shortcut, I have no influence unfortunately, as iOS links to the app first to handle any widget tap. In case of the lock screen, the action is called immediately from system in the current state of the operating system. Kind regards, Marian Koenig

More customizability

I am not sure about the capabilities of it, but being able to change the pictures of the icons would be nice.

Great shortcut to files

Quick way to organize your folders and files and have a shortcut directly to the folder you want. Not sure if it works with shortcut to folders within Dropbox or OneDrive, etc but that isn’t my use case. Love this handy app.

Response from developer

Thanks a lot for this nice feedback. Dropbox & OneDrive are supported via the 3rd Party Link feature, which is explained via a tutorial within the app. I am happy that the app serves you well. Kind regards, Marian Koenig

Amazing

So useful and user friendly!

Thank you for this great feedback. I really appreciate it. Kind regards, Marian Koenig

Why didn't Apple think of this?

This is an awesome app that Apple should have developed long ago. Thank you Marian!!!

Thanks a lot for this great feedback, I really appreciate it : ) Best, Marian

Works well and saves steps

The native iOS Files app was a huge upgrade from older third-party file manager apps when it came out several years ago, but it still has some limitations. This File Shortcuts app helps make up for some of those by saving me steps when I am working on my iPad. Good app, and works well.

Hi Klamars, thanks a lot for this nice feedback and kind regards from Germany.

Doesn’t work

Tried to shortcut to two different folders, all the app does is open the file app to the last open screen. doesn’t matter where i shortcut

It didn’t work at first, but then …

It didn’t work at first (even after a restart, I couldn’t add widgets I had made), but then suddenly and mysteriously it worked beautifully.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I am happy that the app is working for you now. Sometimes there's a restart of the device necessary as iOS doesn't find the app widget after a fresh install. Kind regards, Marian Koenig.

Exactly what I was looking for

That’s pretty much the kind of functionality I would expect from Apple themselves (I already used aliases on my macintosh’s desktop 30 years ago… I was 6 years old 🤨!)
But so happy that someone smart did the job for them ! It’s still a bit rough on the edges but I guess widgets don’t allow much freedom to program with…
One feature I miss though : being able to rename the shortcuts to make them shorter in the context of the app ( i want to keep the original file or folder name untouched ) otherwise it’s unreadable.

Thank you for your great feedback. I am highly appreciating it and will give my best to make the experience even better.

Simple app

This program is simple and does what is supposed to do. It can creat a widgets on you home screen that you can add your files in. However, there are two functions that I was looking for that cannot do. 1) the app does not work with folders that are connected with OneDrive but only works with files. 2) I cannot assigned a folder in the widget that can just show me all the contents inside. Maybe these problems can be fixed with a patch in the future.

Edit: 1) now you can link third party apps like OneDrive effectively which is nice.

Shows nothing in widget picker.

Unfortunately, requesting refund. Nothing shows for me in the widget selector. iPad OS 15. Otherwise, great idea. UPDATE - it eventually appeared. UPDATE 2 - However, the widgets just display gobbledygook names of arbtirary files I had to create in an attempt to show folder contents.

Hi Robert, sorry for the inconvenience. Could you please send me some screenshots or further descriptions of your problems to mail@mariankoenig.com ? I would be happy if we could solve the issue and save the other users from these problems. Of course you will receive a free code to install the app again on your device. I am looking forward to your answer and a satisfying solution for you. Hopefully you will be able to use the app afterwards as well. Kind regards, Marian
