Yes fonts themselves can harbor viruses and malware
It’s a smart deal. Some other AD Blocking softwares for regular computers have font blocking as a optional filter list. Seems like fonts themselves can harbor viruses and/or malware.
I included FontBlock just in case as one additional safety precaution.
You just never can be too safe…
Just to be safe I run AdGuard in my DNS iOS settings for all of the free WiFi I commonly use. I use DNSCloak as a VPN globally for everything else. On top of that I run Adblock Plus & AdGuard for Safari. Good thing I use so many of them. AdGuard stopped updating filters when iOS 17 came out. I look at it like having several locks on your apartment door in a crime ridden city. Should one lock fail, you’ve got several others still keeping you safe. Plus all of them filter out ads globally. I rarely see ads anywhere.
Those folks that complain about being hammered by ads need to get an education…
