Subscribed but app doesn’t know it

I’ve been trying to use the app for several days. I subscribed a while ago and forgot about the app. Now I’m trying to use it, and it keeps prompting me to subscribe. But when I look at my subscriptions on my phone, it shows that I’m already subscribed.

I’ve emailed you for several days (with a screenshot of my subscription) and nobody answers my emails. I’m hoping this gets your attention and someone answers my emails & you fix whatever is wrong.

I love the app…except

Twice in one week I lost access to my subscription. Both times were during times when I was cooking and needed to refer to a recipe on the app. The first incident was fixed in a few hours. I’m shocked that the same thing happened the next day. Please fix the bugs. This is an amazing app, but it’s useless if I can’t depend on the app being available when needed.

Disappointed

The 1st recipe I chose to make & bought the ingredients for, was not there when I was ready to cook it. I wrote the app provider & have heard nothing back from them.

No free trial.

I’m honestly afraid to subscribe to this app after seeing the reviews. It offers no free trial so that I can see if it’s as glitchy as the reviews say it is. I’ll pass on the subscription until it offers a free trial. Also $6.99 a year is a lot if the recipes aren’t updated.

Diet focused app

This app is branded as a vegan recipes app but it’s really just a weight loss app. Makes you answer all these weight questions before even getting to the food. No thanks.

Great recipes, horrible app

App stalls and crashes every time I try to see my favorites, and stalls while scrolling every 5 images. It’s so frustrating I’m canceling my subscription.

Food monster

Presents before food so Weill I realise how scrumptious it is - ex carnivore turned herbivorous!

Love this app

I love how that as a vegetarian, I appreciate the extensive collection of plant-based recipes that are both flavourful and nutritious.

The app also provides options for gluten-free, vegan and other dietary preferences.

Its like my personal chef

This is my go to app for all the things for vegan or healthy food related. It’s like having a personal chef in my pocket. 🙂

Fantastic App

As a food lover I can confidently say that the FoodMonsterapp is a game-changer. I never run out of plantbased cooking ideas.Weather I am craving comfort food or exploring new cuisines this app doesn’t disappoint!

Lame

They had some really good recipes on there. The directions were not that clear from start to finish. The app allows you to review 25 recipes before it makes you subscribe.

Fantastic app for food enthusiasts

The Food Monster app is a fantastic for food enthusiasts. The app interface makes it easy to navigate and discover new recipes daily. The instructions and visuals are eazy to follow along. Overall, its a reliable app which updates daily and is a userfriendly.

Very Glitchy

I’m would give this app 4 stars for the amount of recipes but it is so glitchy that I spend twice the amount of time that I should. Yesterday I went through and bookmarked about 50 recipes, only to find out that the bookmarks didn’t work. Every time I use the app, it crashes at least two or three times which is really frustrating. You can read the featured but if you click on the link to the recipe it’s blank. What’s the point of having an article featuring recipes that are blank. If you like something, it should show up in your account that you’ve liked that recipe. Since I am paying a monthly subscription, I feel this app should not be having all of these problems.

Can’t set up account

I paid for the subscription but the app won’t allow me to set up a password! Can’t use the app!

Don’t Subscribe!

This App COULD be awesome! BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!

This app CRASHES every single time I use it.

Open it and try to click on the main menu? Will not open.

Open a recipe and then try to go back to the home page? No back button, no menu button, no nothing!

You have to CLOSE and REOPEN the app every single time you want to find a recipe.

If you open a recipe and save it to favorites, but you have to close the app to leave the page, then it will not save the recipe. If you search for the recipe by name the app cannot find it.

The only thing I can do on this app without it crashing is browse recipes from the “Latest Recipe” tab.

The recipes look fantastic!!!!
But the app is atrocious!! Worst app ever!
PLEASE FIX THE APP!

Please make it do what it promises to do!
I would happily pay more than the current subscription cost IF IT WORKED!!

Most frustrating experience with an app I have ever had.

Pros and cons of this app

Pros: Lots of interesting recipes for vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Cons:

1) Many of the recipes are poorly written and clearly not edited or reviewed by the site moderators. Typos are common. Ingredients are often not listed in the ingredients but included in the preparation section, sometimes vice versa.

2) It runs a subscription verification every time I go on the app. I’m sorry, these are recipes, not top secret nuclear codes.

3) The option to “try it before you buy it” is extremely limited. You can scroll through a list of sample recipes but you cannot do even one search without subscribing. The cost is not unreasonable and you can do a minimum of 3 months, but still, people are going to subscribe based on perceived value, which is why they should offer a 7- or 14-day free trial. That way you get willing rather than resentful subscribers.

4) Every recipe has a share button. But it does not actually share the recipe, it just sends a link to the website so that the person I share it with can go through the same baloney described above.

5) There is no print option because they are trying to be environmentally responsible. But I like to print a recipe when I’m making it, not constantly refer to my iPad. So instead I take screenshots of the recipe and print those out which requires more pages and more toner than would be used if there was a succinct and well formatted print option.

Everyone of these five items represents a bad business practice. Unless they clean up their act, I’ll probably not renew my three month subscription.

Diet pushing ads

No problem with the app itself but multiple ads for ‘Perfect Body’ telling me ‘What to eat to lose weight’ every 4 recipes is a no from me. I came for vegan recipes not enforced dieting.

Does not seem to work

After downloading the app I was unable to perform basic operations like search for recipes by an ingredient, etc. Would not recommend.

Advertisements even if you subscribe

I have the ads firewalled so I don't see them, but even after subscribing there are ads all over the place. I regret downloading and wasting money on this app.

As soon as my subscription ends I'm deleting the app.

Very disappointed as this app seems like it has so much potential.

Frustrating UI

I probably wouldn’t leave this review if I didn’t submit helpful UI feedback and got a response from admin that was defensive. So now I will share what is wrong with this app. First I do like the pictures and there seem to be lots of recipes. But when you like a recipe, you can never go back to your likes. And bookmarking a recipe take several steps which is cumbersome. And when you select ingredients that you’d like and it goes and your profile for recipes that they could recommend, there’s no where to find those recommendations based on the things that you were liked. So I find it unusable. Might as well search the Internet for recipes and not pay four dollars a month. There must be an app out there where I can simply choose the foods that I like and I get only those recipes that include those foods.
