What's New in Foodily

1.3

August 8, 2026

What's new in 1.3: Community feed loads reliably. Fixes an issue where posts wouldn't appear in the feed for anyone (the underlying database query was missing an index — the post existed the whole time, just invisible). Reliable niche diets. Keto, Paleo, Pescatarian and other diet filters now produce fully on-plan recipes. Verified across a large test set — the prompt correctly excludes off-diet items even when they'd be technically available in pantry staples. Cookbook is finally a real cookbook. Tap the Saved chip to see every recipe you've ever hearted, not just the ones from the current generation. New hearts save the full recipe payload, so your history sticks around across generations. Quick access. Heart-shaped Favorites button on the Community tab so your saved recipes are always one tap away, no matter which tab you're on. Under the hood: report + block controls on community posts, better error surfacing when Firestore rejects a query (so we can actually diagnose the next bug like this instead of showing an empty screen).

Amazing App!

If the owner of a product doesn’t even want to use or consume it, you can already tell that it’s not a good product. So as the cofounder of Foodily, I scanned my fridge and cooked something myself despite having no experience in cooking whatsoever. I was initially unsure if auto generated recipes would work out or not, but the instructions were really easy to follow and the end dish tasted great! Even my father decided to pack the leftovers for lunch when he went to work. You can see my dish and recipe once we get the community view page shipped really soon! Unfortunately, my mother told me that I have to make dinner regularly from now on after she tasted the dish…
