About

Footy Ready is a personal off-season, pre-season and in-season training coach for amateur footballers: Aussie rules, rugby league, rugby union and soccer. The strength, running and soft-tissue work here is what every football code shares. It is not contact or tackle conditioning, and it does not pretend to be. Most plans you find online are static PDFs written for a 22-year-old with a full gym. Footy Ready is different: it builds your plan around who you actually are, when your season actually starts, and how you actually feel today. BUILT AROUND YOU, NOT A GENERIC SQUAD Tell Footy Ready your code, your age, your training history, your injury history, your equipment and the days you can actually train, and it builds a program around all of it, not a one-size-fits-all template. Enter your season's round 1 date and it periodises backwards from there and forwards through finals, so the training you're doing in December actually points at the season ahead. A CHECK-IN THAT CHANGES TODAY'S SESSION Every day starts with a 30-second readiness check-in. Depending on how you answer, today's session adjusts: lighter, shorter, or run as planned, and Footy Ready always tells you why, including on the days nothing changes. That "why" is what makes the app worth trusting on the days it does pull something back. EVERY PHASE OF THE YEAR Off-season, pre-season, in-season, finals and the reset after them: six phases, each with its own focus, generated from your actual season dates rather than a generic calendar. Lifting and running sessions adjust to your equipment tier, your available time and your training history, and any exercise you can't safely do because of an injury or your age is never surfaced, on any screen. NO GYM? NO PROBLEM Full programs are available for a garage, a park or a loaded barbell. If your equipment tier is "not much," the running and bodyweight work carries the session rather than quietly assuming you have a rack you don't. BUILT FOR WHO'S ACTUALLY PLAYING Footy Ready applies conservative, age-appropriate caps automatically for under-18 athletes as they train (and lifts them the moment you turn 18), and biases toward recovery and staying on the field for masters and veteran players. TRY IT ON YOUR OWN SEASON, FREE The full assessment, your complete season outline across all six phases, one real session generated from your own answers and fully playable, and one real readiness check-in applied to it, are free forever. No trial clock, no locked preview: it's your actual Week 1, Day 1, and a real check-in that really changes it. Every session after that one, and every check-in after the first, is part of the subscription, with a free trial and a yearly option built for the September pre-season rush. Your training history is never locked: every session you have logged stays readable whether you're subscribed or not. YOUR TRAINING, YOUR DEVICE, YOUR iCLOUD No account, no sign-in and no server of the developer's. Your assessment, your check-ins and every session you log stay on your device unless you turn on the optional iCloud backup yourself, off by default, which copies them to your own private iCloud so they come back if you lose your phone. Footy Ready never sees your training either way, and there is no analytics or advertising SDK in the app. Footy Ready gives general fitness guidance, not medical advice, and is not physiotherapy or rehabilitation. Anything flagged as sore is worked around, not through; see a health professional for anything more than that. Footy Ready is an independent training app for amateur Aussie rules, rugby league, rugby union and soccer players. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any league or governing body. What's New in Footy Ready

1.2

September 7, 2026

Weeks that say what they are doing, and season dates you can go back to. A deload that keeps your sets now tells you why. Some weeks have no volume left to give back, so the deload eases the effort instead: the same sets, with more left in the tank than usual. Your phase dates are on the Season tab. Round 1, and where each block starts and finishes, in a place you can go back to rather than only on the screen you saw once at setup. You can say when club pre-season starts at any time of year, not only in the off season. Open Settings, then Season. A date left over from a season that has already been and gone is no longer taken at face value. Better weeks when your time is tight. A week with room for one lift now gets a main lift of its own, the day after a game picks up a pull, and a session is no longer filled past the session length you set. Every session's why-line now matches what is actually in the session, and a week with none of a movement in it says so on the Season tab.
