At last! Update
Just adding to my 5 star review of last year (because no one else seems to have commented): this app still offers a great gradient tool for on-bike use (and off when out walking) but now offers some useful other info. It remains stable and perfectly functional. Thanks developer!

Why is it so difficult to find a usable cycling app to measure gradient? I've been through all the usual and some of the unusual to no avail. Until now. This app is stable, the readings have some 'viscosity' to allow the user to actually read a figure, not a blur of numbers, and it does what I want it to do for free. Thanks.

App did not work
With 4 bars on my iPhone, and cellular data turned on, the app did not register any speed.
All it did is measure the angle of incline, and nothing else.

Unreliable
The speedometer seems to be pretty accurate but the grade function is unreliable. As I was flying down a couple 10 % grade it registered a positive grade. Average speed reading also unreliable. I recalibrated several times but that didn’t fix the problem. I suspect you need an exceptionally stable phone mount with absolutely no vibration to get accurate readings.
