What's New in ForceMaps

2.1

March 14, 2026

Version 2.1 — Location History ForceMaps 2.0 brought a complete rewrite of our link detection engine for faster, more reliable redirects. Now 2.1 takes it further with Location History. What's New: • Location History — Every address and direction you open through ForceMaps is now saved in a dedicated History tab. Search past locations, sort by date or name, and tap to reopen in Apple Maps or Waze. • Swipe to delete individual entries or clear everything at once. • History updates in real-time — no need to refresh. Privacy First: • All location history is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data. Your history never leaves your phone. Improved in 2.0+ • Completely rewritten redirect engine — more accurate interception with fewer false positives. • Call, Website, Share, and Save buttons are no longer accidentally intercepted. • Faster redirects to Apple Maps and Waze.

User reviews

Unclear description

It should’ve been very clear that this app is ONLY an extension for Safari when using Google search engine WITHIN Safari and CANNOT be added as an extension in Chrome. Completely useless purchase!

Maps link redirection works, AI removal does not

Core functionality given.

However, the removal of Google AI in Results currently does not work.

I don‘t know if it is technically possible it would be awesome if Google “Directions” button could also redirect to Apple Maps.

Awesome

This app is great! It does exactly what it claims it does and doesn’t sacrifice privacy! Awesome.

Great app for all iOS users

As Google continues to try to force you to use their apps rather than the a web experience, just getting direction via web search became a miserable experience if you don’t want to have Google Maps installed. Force maps fixes this by still allowing you to use google as your search engines, but opens directions and addresses in Apple Maps. No more pop ups from google trying to trick you into getting their app and stuck in a loop opening the App Store. No more pop ups trying to get you to change your default app. This is one of the best iOS apps you can buy for removing friction in using the web + maps.
