Completely amazing!
This app has been so good for me as a young writer! The challenges are incredible! I love all the features that you get for free. I also love that you can comment and encourage other writers and also colab with them and talk! It’s the most amazing writing app I’ve ever had.
The one thing I could say would be a feature where you can publish your own book. But apart from that suggestion I love this app and give it five stars. Totally try it.

Amazing! One suggestion though
This app is so useful. I definitely recommend but I would like to be able to have a pen option in the boards section so I could freestyle easily write notes instead of text. Pls do this and thx for considering my idea.

I am a young writer who mostly does fantasy, dystopian, and romance. I was looking for something in which i could organize my thoughts and try to get facts down about my world when I came across fortelling. I assumed it was like any other app-laggy on a phone, formatted weird, pay to use-but i was amazingly surprised when I opened the app and it looked amazing! Organized interface, detailed charecter plans, multiple story timelines and plots, planning, web charts, photos, and writing all in one place for unlimited use on a phone! No downsides that I can see!

It’s quite good I guess, but not like stand out good otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. I like the timeline feature and the fact it counts my words, but it’s a bit over complicated and there have been some bugs. I keep wanting to add a new chapter on this particular story I’m writing, but every time it just doesn’t load and it’s fine in my other stories. Plus the story I’m writing includes language translations, but I don’t know how to do this cause I can’t do a little space and write the English underneath cause the spaces are far to big and I can’t find a way to change this. Apart from this it’s ok.

Ok now I have really got to know the app, it is officially AMAZING! I now understand how it works and am loving the weekly challenges!

I just finished a 80k novel as a young author, and before I start editing my manuscript, I wanted to world build like my life depended on it. Problem was, I needed something to organize my brains thoughts, and I came across Fortelling. I am astounded by all of the free features, such as pinboards, infinite charecter profiles, locations, and so much more. It has detailed questions to answer and it has really helped me flesh out my charecters! I’ve only had it about 4 days and have already seen the benefits. I’m able to keep track of where a charecter lives, why they have so much trauma (every writer knows their fav charecter gets to have the most trauma), their birthdate, and their relationship with other charecters! There are so many things that I probably haven’t even discovered yet. I also thought it would be uncomfortable on a phone, but the design is so well thought out and is really really easy to use on my phone. It’s also FREE! Seriously, why are so many writing apps not free?!?! As a writer who has a bit of trouble keeping track of exactly what age a charecter is (Seriously, I once labeled the same charecter as both 21, 22, 24, 25, and 26…it’s a problem) But with a few taps, I’m able to see exactly what detail needs to be edited! the information and way it’s set up is so easy to navigate, and i have to wrap this review up soon, so, all you really need to know? If you do any type of writing, film making, any sort of thing that has charecters, GET THIS APP!!!

It was going fine until yesterday but then none of my collaboration messages on my phone would go through and now I can’t log into my account again on my phone?? I can get into it on the webpage but not on the actual app? And I need to get on the app for the notifications

FAVORITE WRITING APP EVER!!
This is by FAR already my #1 writing app. I haven’t even used all the tools yet! Out of all the ones I’ve tried, I appreciate how thorough the developers were, making sure to include every possible thing a writer would want for world building. Most others have the bare minimum, and their tools are usually just for drafts and editing. And very few things are locked behind subscriptions, which is also AMAZING. I’ll definitely be using this for all my books in the future. Truly an outstanding and actually helpful app! :D

OH MY GOD. this app is a LIFE SAVER it's literally the coolest thing ever; it's easy to understand AND helps so much with book writing and stuff. I'm currently in a dnd campaign where everyone is pretty new to the idea of dnd and using this app to store information is SO beneficial. You can collaborate with your friends as well which is so useful, and you can add characters (with extensive details on everything to do with them), you can add worlds, languages, species, and SO MUCH MOREEEE!!! I use it for so many books I'm writing as someone who loves making characters and stories. The app itself has so many tools and I'm pretty sure new tools are frequently added and stuff, so the app just keeps getting better. I was the one to recommend my friends this and so far they love it. Previously I've used my notes app to store character information and stuff but it's always been confusing and complicated, which is why this app is so perfect.

Love it!
Really great tools for writing, and I love the challenge prompts, it’s great to be able to hear from other authors and get feedback! A few glitches, such as not being able to remove a picture that I set on a group. Please fix.
Something’s very wrong
I tried to sign into my account, and the screen went black. No matter how many times I’ve tried reinstalling it, or how long I wait for it to load, the screen remains completely black and unresponsive. It works great on my other device, but not here.
Great app
Amazing for righting my story’s but a strongly wish we didn’t have to pay to use it on laptop or pc ect.
Beginner friendly
I think that this is a great app, especially for people first getting into writing. I mainly love the organization that this app provides. It makes finding things much easier than having a mess of papers with scribbled notes. Out of all the writing apps I’ve tried out and tested this one is by far the best. However, there are a few bugs that I have been experiencing. When I’m editing chapters or just writing in general it will glitch on me, I could be writing in one area and then it will take me to a completely different spot. And won’t let me go back without saving my progress and closing out to reopen the document. I’ve alway noticed that image covers I try to set won’t show up when I first open the app. My original work has the cover, but the others just don’t seem to load no matter what I do. Similarly with title changes, it’ll say it’s saved but when I backed out nothing has changed. Overall a great app, I’d just like it if while I’m writing I don’t have to keep opening and closing it to write normally.
