Even worse now
This update makes it impossible to even turn the VPN on. And every method I read to fix it says to turn it off, turn it on, or turn my phone off and then turn it on again. I don’t have time for this when I’m on a traffic stop and have to go thru this whole rigmarole just to do my job. This app is awful.

v8.0 finally fixes autoconnect
FortiClient has been a pain in the past, but the major upgrade to 8.0 finally brings many fixes. The ones I have been working for the most are autoconnect, even if the app is in the background.

Poor reliability
I’ve had so many issues with FortiClient on both Mac and iPhone. On the iPhone, it has such a hard time connecting to the vpn and gives me an error majority of the time. It also makes it impossible to use other apps and even web browser. It slows the speed or blocks it completely. Such a pain

Why is this app in French?
I am from Germany and I have no idea why this app switches to French when I open it. For a second it’s in English but all of a sudden it changes…
iOS support limited
DNS resolving does not work. You have to enter IP addresses instead of hostnames (even in FQDN format) to access your LAN devices through VPN.
Doesn’t stay connected
App consistently disconnects, takes forever to reconnect, sometimes I have to manually disconnect and reconnect it multiple times because it won’t connect. Have had to shut phone off because of app issues.
Constantly booting us out
I don’t know if it’s hard to set up or if overall the app is horrible. Our company switched to this a week ago and it is extremely frustrating. Even when actively doing tasks we get booted. Turn your back for a minute or two, you are booted. I have even had the VPN icon on in the corner and work apps still wouldn’t work and I would have to go open FortiClient again, let it close itself out and start again. Someone I know kept getting booted out of meetings, too. Would not recommend.

… until it doesn’t! We have huge issues with auto-connect. It just freezes, you don’t even notice it and when it happens you lose you data connection! You are completely offline! As of now, auto connect is unusable!

It’s easy to enable but it can be very difficult to disable or change the protocol or server.
