Recent updates favor whales
However, a few recent updates reduced the amount of free currency you can earn. One of the biggest places to earn is in the Arena, where matchmaking only puts you up against players who spend big and are many times your level, and effectively you end up earning only a fraction of the currency you earned before. I stuck it out for about a month after these changes, then quit.
I’m sure the devs will respond to this insisting that you can still play for free, and that is technically correct, but you cannot make effective progress in this game or pull for and rank up new heroes anymore without spending a lot of money.
If you intend to play for free, or if you are like me and are willing to throw in ten or twenty bucks a year, this game is not for you. It used to be, but it isn’t anymore.
