I’m a longterm Forvo user and I’m glad the app is still being updated. My biggest barrier to contributing right now is that certain diacritic marks are not valid such as Yiddish phonetic symbols and in one case an entire letter for very common words like kh (כ) . Some very common words need that letter and sometimes you need phonetic markers to distinguish pronunciation. Hopefully, certain invalid letters / markers can get added at some point

Useless App
Trying to sign up it asked four times for the same information. Once in couldn’t use the app at all. Lesson learned . Don’t waste your money on it.

I used to love this app but after not opening it in awhile I tried to use it recently and it won’t play any sound clips. I can search and find words but when I click the play icon it spins like it’s loading then doesn’t do anything. iPhone 15, iOS 26.3.1 (a).

Audio doesn't play
Love the website but the app doesn't play audio.
No longer working on iPhone
I loved this app for a long time, but a few months ago an update caused it to start working, and I haven't been able to use it since. iPhone 15 user, so it's definitely an app issue.

Location required
Another cash grab. You can’t listen unless you sign up, can’t sign up without giving your location under the guise of “we need to know your accent”. I’m not interested in recording so you don’t need my location. One’s location is not a def indicator of accent either. I live in a mid Atlantic city yet there are people from the south, the north, the Midwest, other countries and they all speak with their native accents yet they live here in my city. Bogus.

Очень полезное приложение, достойное высокой похвалы.
После обновления перестало воспроизводиться аудио, то есть сам смысл этого приложения обнулён. Очень жду исправления.
Upd: Прошло около месяца, но тут без изменений — аудио проигрывает только через браузер.
И опытным путем установил, что приложение из appstore воспроизводит только когда подключены наушники.

Recordings don’t play
The app stopped working: I hit the play button but the audio does play. This is the main feature of the app and it doesn’t work properly.
Not working
I play the audio and there is no sound. It’s not working. Please fix it.
Worst app
It doesn’t work at all. Do not pay for it. I paid and I want my money back.

The sound volume is too quiet despite the phone setting set to the maximum. What do we pay for?

I pay like 3 Euros for nothing - it doesn’t work at all - the pronunciation has no voice .
