A really good app

Now don’t get me wrong this app is really good. Meaning the concept is marvellous! Exactly what I need! But the app software it self is very slow, laggy, and crashes every 5 seconds or freezes when it opens. If the apps software gets fixed this app will become revolutionary! Keep up the good work!

Wish it worked

I just downloaded this hoping it would help me with finding post secondary, but it’s crashed so many times already just setting things up and doesn’t save anything. I’d love to use this app but I’m not sure if it’s worth the frustration.

doesn’t work

i first downloaded the app and was able to access a sign-in screen. after going back into the app it wouldn’t load, even after deleting and redownloading the app it doesn’t work. seems like a super sick idea tho

Great Resource

A great tool to collect information regarding post secondary education in Ontario. A very easy app to use, while personalizing the students interests, grades and experience. I especially found it helpful for my son who does not know what he would like to do for a career. It made quick work of searching programs that might be of interest while giving him realistic goals based on his grades. It was also reassuring for him to see that he is competitive in his grades and can likely gain acceptance into several programs.

why??

why the hell is there white text on a white screen i can’t see what i’m typing...and my high school doesn’t show up, or any other high school in my city

No information

It started off to a good start when it had my small town high school in the system but once I started to research anything post secondary it has nothing I didn’t put any filters on other than my program of interest but it came up with no results same with when I just tried searching up a school/city or even when I just typed in Ontario would be such a great app if it actually worked

An Honest Review

The first time I opened the app, the resources and content were very scarce. For example, many programs did not include the tuition cost or residence & board costs. It generally was very limited with what information was provided. This was a shock to me as it had been out a while.
However, the app received an update today (August 27, 2019) that changed the app completely. There were many more menus, functions, and more information. This was great to see and became much more useful.
That said, I only rate this four stars because there are a couple things that this app can do better on. Firstly, I found that the app’s feature for determining one’s eligibility for a program to have a significant flaw. Not all the courses that I had enrolled in were in the system. Second of all, the charting feature was and still is very confusing to me. There are no instructions on how to use this feature or what the chatting feature’s purpose is. I personally don’t think it is a necessary feature. I would personally message people on other platforms rather than over Fosterway. I would suggest focusing more energy on the amount and quality of information available on the app. Finally, one wish I have for the app is a well-made map. Now all this sounds like a tall ask (and it most definitely is) but Fosterway is such a useful app that is one of a kind. There are so alternatives that I have found to this app and having a map feature of the universities in the app would be so useful. It could be as simple as the shapes of the buildings with buttons for pictures of the building.
Overall, this is a great app for anyone in high school (all the way from grade 9 to 12) and I’d highly recommend this to anyone thinking about attending post-secondary.
