It provides detailed weather information, including precipitation forecasts, sunrise and sunset quality predictions, and daylight phase timings. It also offers photography-specific tools like a Fotoscore, photo suggestions based on weather and gear, and a photo session manager.

What are the key features for photographers?

Key features include a Fotoscore that indicates optimal photography conditions, predictions for colorful sunrises and sunsets, real-time minute-by-minute precipitation forecasts with alerts, and intuitive displays of daylight phases like blue hour and golden hour. It also provides photo suggestions based on weather and your gear, a session manager, and animated radar maps.

Is Fotocast free to use?

The application is free to download and use, offering many of its core features without charge. However, it does have in-app purchases, suggesting that some advanced features or content may require an additional purchase to unlock.

What kind of weather alerts can I set up?

You can configure more types of weather alerts than in most other weather apps. This includes alerts for specific conditions like low wind speed at your favorite locations for reflection shots, or the presence of fog for creative photography. The app also allows for minute-by-minute precipitation alerts.

How does Fotocast help with planning photo sessions?

Fotocast helps with planning by allowing you to program future photography sessions. You will receive notifications if bad weather is expected, preventing you from getting caught in the rain. The app also provides photo suggestions based on the weather and your owned gear, helping you make the most of each shooting opportunity.
