I’ve been critical in past as seen below but now I haven’t even got a response in 3 months Carter reaching out multiple times to support! My Sats balance is showing a negative balance that’s incorrect and a bug I assume but I’ve had no reply to emails from support. I am so done with this app. It’s issue after issue after issue since I downloaded it 4 years ago. Phone gets hot when in use and it’s just a mess. Do not use Fountain people! There are other podcasting 2.0 friendly apps that don’t have issues regularly.

Done. I tried for over 3 years using this app regularly. It just doesn’t seem to work anymore on a regular basis. Although I must update and say some things have improved since my last review . But after 3 years of bugs I’m just switching to another app so called it quits after having a better experience elsewhere past few weeks. But I love the mission! I hate that it’s at this point. I will likely try again in future but I need a break! (I tried again and it got worse, now my Sats balance has dropped wrongly to negative and support had not responded in months)

This is BY FAR the absolute BEST podcast player out there!!
I love this app and everything it does. However, sometime in the last 2-3 weeks there was an update that has broken several things and done really weird stupid things like forgetting where I was in a podcast when I come back after a 5 minute pause or rewinding randomly when I click on the fast forward 30 seconds button from my watch, or tries to replay the podcast I just listened to instead of going to the next show in my queue, or the screen randomly blacks out when I add a new show to my queue. Please go back to the version you were running a few weeks ago, and DO NOT EVER EVER EVER!!!!! make any UI changes.
Edit: WOW, literally immediately after I posted this review, the app updated and the developers changed the UI and didn’t even fix any of the bugs. I can’t recommend this app anymore when the developers would do something so brazen and violate one of the biggest rules of keeping a successful app successful. DEVS— Just revert the app to what it was 3 weeks ago and fix those bugs. Don’t bother with anything else.

I used to earn sats
I heard about fountain on a bitcoin podcast so started to use it to earn a few sats. It all worked great until February this year when I stopped earning! No idea why! I think lots of apps find they need to make money, so push paid for premium versions, but not everyone can afford to subscribe to multiple apps. Bit disappointing after early promise.

This pod player is very nice, and cross platform. But it is built on a protocol called nostr, and although it isn’t required, you should create a nostr account first.
Nostr is a social platform, that houses lots of types of apps. Mostly a social media feed. But also apps like this. If you have an accounts and log into this with it, you can comment on podcasts in app and it will share to your feed automatically.
So as a podcast player it’s “good”, and improving, but if used properly it can become so much more and starts to make more sense. Try it , I like it
