Lightweight, functional, tweakable

Everything I could ask for. Always happier to support home brew projects than corporate ones.

If it weren’t for this app I probably could never be bothered to try the 4:6 method.

Also, the developer is an incredibly awesome human being. Went out of their way to accommodate me, despite my objections due to my use case being very narrow.

I actually think your use case wasn’t that narrow, as I find myself making small tweaks to the amount of coffee sometimes too. It was better before!

It’s got a nice new UI now. But the simplicity before was great. And now the ‘brew’ vs ‘pro’ modes- it defaults to ‘brew’ mode so I have to do a few more taps every single time I open it to get to ‘pro’ mode. It’d be one thing if it just had one mode and defaulted to 20g. But now it does that *and* I have to change modes. Kind of annoying.

Thanks for the feedback. The fact that the brew mode kept getting reset to guided was a bug that slipped in on the 2.2 update. I’ve since released a fix for that. So it should load the previous set mode now. If you have any other feedback please feel free to send it to jon@foursixcoffeeapp.com. I’m always very receptive to ideas for improvements.

So Much Control!

This app allows the user to exercise so much control over their brews. It's amazing how simply changing quantity of water and when your pour it changes the profile of the coffee. It's a fun way to alter tastes without changing grind size, water temperature, or equipment. Highly recommended!

v2 is a major improvement

I’ve been using the app for years now and was initially confused by the v2 redesign. After figuring out how to enter “pro” mode with the help of the friendly developer/owner of the app (hit the tiny dropdown arrow at the top of the screen), I can say that v2 provides more and better options for controlling my brew and it delights me to use!

Hi there. Sounds like you previously had FourSix Pro in v1. In v2, there is a “Guided” mode which is free, and a “Pro” mode that is paid, but if you were previously Pro in v1, it transfers to v2. All the functionality of Pro v1 is included in v2. To access it, you simply need to click the center drop down menu at the top where the little down arrow is. V2 doesn’t have a slider anymore, but you can still set the amount to any amount you want and make quick large adjustments by tapping the “Edit” button to type in any amount you want.
