Load from FILES not working

I have recently downloaded Frame Extractor and am very pleased with the app. I have, however, encountered what appears to be a bug with the “Open from Files” option. If I try to open a .MOV file directly from Files/iCloud Drive, using the “Open from Files” option within Frame Extractor, it does not load.
As a test, I took that same file from Files and saved it to my Photos Library. Frame Extractor opened it without any problems. So it does not appear that the MOV format, HEVC codec, file size or video itself is the problem.
I understand that recent versions of iPadOS treat files selected through Files/iCloud Drive differently from items in the Photos Library, particularly regarding sandbox/security-scoped file access. I wonder whether the “Open from Files” function may need an update to accommodate Apple’s current file-access requirements?
My normal workflow is to store these videos in Files/iCloud Drive rather than Photos, so direct Files access would be particularly useful to me. Grateful if you can review the technical details of your app, and allow me and other users to be able to utilize the full functionality of Frame Extractor.
